You see there we go we are doing ok we finished 9th.....well we finished 9th yonks ago but we still never beat last seasons points total.....Lets analyze the season shall we because if you do then its not as good as you think due to the inability of our manager unable to lift the team and stop the rot after other teams managers got the measure of him....We are so lucky we played more or less Rodgers style in the beginning as we would all be crying in our beer today after being relegated.... the minute he started changing things we hardly got any points at all and all we hear is excuses after excuses. ....Look at laudrup himself he was one of the best finishers in the world but he has not been able to train our players to do it in a whole season....Rodgers could do it so why cant he....
To many are being blinded by his own playing career and not his managerial career that like his other clubs are saying he cant motivate players and now we have proof ourselves they were right....
Nobody wants him to fail but im afraid i agree with a lot that is being said around the place that ML dont have what it takes and its lucky we played our old better productive style of football at the beginning or we would not have survived......

Your damned right I'm being blinded by his managerial career Dai. A league cup, top 10 and taking us into Europe all in his first season as our manager isn't bad is it. Tell me, after spending close to £40million at Liverpool, how did Rodgers do at Liverpool in his first season?

exactly valley <ok> lets ignore the second half of the season as if it is not relevant to where we are today and only look at the good parts that another managers skills and playing style got us the points and league cup..<laugh> good thinking valley i never thought of that..

So by that assumption then Dai, it was Kenny Daglish's fault we knocked Liverpool out of the league cup then <doh>
Cannot believe that you are implying that all our success this season has been down to BR way of playing etc <doh>

Sorry Dai. You have another subscriber to your ignore list.

My life and energies are better spent rather than listen to your intense vitriol which always spills over any point you try and make.

Respond if you want ....I cant here you!

Reckons that all the success the Swans had this season was because we were playing Rodgers style of football not Laudrups. I did try to tell there is a big difference and there was from th very first game but as per mormal it fell on deaf ears!..<laugh>

I did explain this to yesterday Dai, Laudrups team play faster and mix up the play, coming through the middle, playing narrow and one touch at speed as well as developing other ways to combat the likes of Everton etc.

Rodgers way of playing is to keep the ball for 60% of the time and keep moving the opposition around until a mistake is made or a gap is worked, they are two very different ways really. Rodgers style was very easy to combat against Laudrups is not, the failiure of Laudrups system is the personell it employs!! ie, missing sitters when we have opened teams up...like the Fulham game yesterday for example!!

Now if you cant see the difference there really isn't any hope for you, please tell me you see the difference between the two systems !!

I knew what this thread invited as soon as I saw it. No doubt that Norway had the best of intentions and I don't hold anything against him but its too bad that people will really have to be careful what they post so as not to invite the wums in.
I'm another that can't hear either, thank God

In fairness it has taken nearly 80 posts before the "Rodgers is better" type comments get blurted out !!...<cheers>

Agree 100%. After the 5-1 win at QPR, according to Dai it was all down to Rodgers! It was a far more direct approach with the wingers playing the inside lines more. If anything, we have lately gone back to more traditional wing play and we have fallen short...because none of the buggers can cross the ball.

I don't think I will mate, I very often post from the heart win, lose or draw and make every thread "of the moment" (the post match threads im talking about) sometimes my comments are rightly taken to task and the debate by them sometimes changes my viewpoint, this is what I really enjoy. Being more premeditated takes away a little bit of the passion in my articles and while im first to admit im not always correct with my views I feel that more often than not the majority on here see similar things at the time of watching the game, its as close to an "in the bar afterwards" conversation as I tend to get most of the time!

Worrying about what some Liverpool/Rodgers friendly poster thinks is not what Im intrested in and of course 90% are the same as me, in a normal world the past manager and tactics will always come into play so we cant dismiss the Rodgers factor completely, there will always be parallels to be drawn .

The guy is seen as a complete joke on here anyway and as soon as you ask a pointed question he goes silent and refuses to debate, thinking about what somebody might think or wheather it will add fuel to the fire is the furthest thing from my mind when I post.

I will continue to post my thoughts and will never ever consider what it might mean to a sad individual who likes to act troll when it suits him.
Truth is that he hates being found out that Liverpool is his first love, he will forever try and cover that one up but of course its too late,he has shown his true colours.

As before ,we continue on here as per normal and ignore as best we can, its up to each person how they see fit to deal with it but giving him responses such as the one ive just given is what makes him happy, not the content of my article <cheers>

explain if you can then why we were picking up points and winning games playing the same football style of last season while ML himself needed time to get to know the players and what they can do.....What have we achieved since he started to change the way we play, have we got better????? results says no...If you think its just me questioning ML's ability then you are far from the truth...Football pundits are picking up on the fact that he has ruined the way we use to play and i could not give two ****s who we will bring in we will not survive next season playing his way.....It will only be when its to late that you will realise i and many others were right....I said the same about Danny boy that he was not good enough and again you were blinded by his few goals and ignored his long barren runs and the same ones thought they knew best and called me everything and i was spot on as most of you acknowledged and im afraid im going to be right yet again if we continue to play ML's way...every manager has now got the measure of him and its no wonder he never lasted long at his other clubs....we can see why now...<ok>
