Danny Ings, Spurs are apparently looking at a $5mil bid for him...

Him and Charlie up front for us would be a force to be reckoned with...

We had the chance to look at players like Ings years ago but Fernandes and Co decided (insert any signing other than Austin here) were better

I don't think Burnley would sell him to a relegation rival.

They won't sell him in Jan to anyone and certainly not us, nor would he want to come here

I wouldn't swap from Burnley to us and any wage boost would be counter balanced by a relegation clause.

It's a bit Catch 22 - we only want the motivated and sane players but anyone wanting to come here is obviously mad. The only exception is from the lower leagues but I don't think our scouting network is aware that there are such divisions... or other countries... or other teams except for West Ham and Spurs. Actually, do we have scouts at all? Sounds like the easiest job ever (you could improve the player coverage by a subscription to BT Sports).

Good idea. But let's try to work out the criteria by which Harry judges a player first.

Was he good several years ago?
Has he played for Harry before?
Was he an international several years ago?
Is he fit? You know what I mean. If we buy him, will he be able to play some time in the next six months and/or play more than 45 minutes in any game for the rest of his career? If he's still alive, well that's a good start. We can get him at a knock down price. £6mill to you Mr levy
What do people say about him? You know, the important people, his agents. They're all good lads deep down.
Has he played for Spurs before?
Is he willing to sign for at least 50 grand a week? If he aint, he can't be any good.

Answer those questions and sadly you have your answer.
