We have over 30 crosses and 15 or 16 attempts on goal and their keeper only has to make 1 comfortable save.

Our best chance came from their keepers mistake.

We played in a way which may of benefited soldado yet left him on the bench until the 83rd minute...and he replaced the most creative midfielder who could have supplied him.

Then we have to hear pundits and our manager talking about luck and effort...seriously? Since when is showing effort a thing in itself? Tens of thousands a week and we should be proud of their efforts?

I aint having a post lost to the goons meltdown cos in my opinion we have been **** all season on the whole.

We have failed to score in 9 league matches this season, we have scored more than 2 goals only 3 times this season, and have scored 2 goals just 8 times, and 1 goal in the remaining 10 matches ... thats 36 goals in 30 games...and 4 of those were penalties.

We have scored 1 goal against Everton (2 matches) 1 against city (2 matches) 0 against arsenal (3 matches) 0 against liverpool (1 match) and 1 against chelsea in 2 matches....so against the top 6 sides we have scored 3 goals in 10 matches and the record is won 1 drew 2 lost 7 conceded 25 and managed 1 clean sheet.

We have already conceded more goals at home this season than last and have already lost 2 more home matches than last season.and have lost more games this season than all of last season...

All this after spending £110m

**** the possession stats, **** the running around a lot stats, **** the showed character stats...the only stats that matter show we are worse ... by far... than last season and by a country mile worse than 2 and 3 years ago.

The season can be viewed as a waste or if you want to think positively it could lead to an exciting year next season. That is just how this club operates, hope, rather then actual planning so I get the reasons for being pissed off but we're not far off being a decent team.

The issues can mainly be solved by having the right manager in charge. You only need to look at Man Utd to see what happens when a group of top class players play for the wrong manager.

While we don't have world class players, we have enough quality to perform to a decent standard rather then embarrass ourselves.

Last season Liverpool finished on 61 points and 7th.

There's a fair chance our position will be similar. .

The difference there is Liverpool had a season of transition with a manager already planning for next year and they have seen the benefits.

We are likely to have three managers in the space of 12 months. We are wasting time and it's frustrating but with the right man in charge, team organised and the right work done via the training ground, then we can give a much better account of ourselves.

Just we have to rely on Levy to hire the right manager and that is where much of the optimism ends.

Is anyone prepared to put their neck on the line and tell us that this Spurs squad, under this manager, is ever going to get a sniff of top 5, over the ensuing three or four seasons? Forget top 4.

Everton can go above us this season, if they win all their remaining games (even assuming that we win all of our remaining games), so we've got to be looking at 6th, now.

And yes much of the problems stem from Levy but Enic and Lewis have no reason to change Levys position as he does the job asked and as Levy also owns part of Enic then he will ensure the business is run smoothly without any financial risks so he isn't going anywhere, unless he decides to call it a day and focus on other ventures which is unlikely.

I'm just waiting for the next manager to be viewed as being the saviour and then within six months fans will be demanding he's sacked.

We all realise that it is nearly impossible to get rid of Levy/ENIC and if Levy went they would only appoint a puppet with another decade of
empty words . As they are the core of all the bitterness and constant failure we must not give up and except real change no matter how
minimal a chance, it must happen if the club is to break from it's shackles. We must not be apathetic and except that Jericho can't be toppled .
Five years on we all be saying the same words again as nothing will change under them.

I think the trouble is that we've seen a glimpse of the promised land under Harry and thought that would be the new normal. It isn't - we are around 6th best in terms of resources and getting into the top 4 on a regular basis is going to need a lot of luck or a wedge of money from some benefactor who is never likely to get any return on it.

The reason ENIC are happy to hang on is that the upside is a lot bigger than the downside: if we stay 5th/6th they don't lose, if we get to 4th they win massively. If there is a mega-rich Spurs fan out there who can cough up a few hundred million over the next three years then please can he stand up now

it was to moan at the stupidity of signing a manager allowing him to spend around £160m in 3 transfer windows and then sacking him and the whole process starting again.
it was against the lunacy of having a dof who buys players that the manager dont want.
its against moronic decisions like sacking a manager and replacing him with avb and sherwood.

I don't really agree with you RCL: The only thing that matters about the signings is whether on average we've got value for money and it will be a few seasons before we can be sure of that. Any individual's opinion of any of them is exactly that - an opinion, which will be proved right or wrong in the fullness of time. That's why the player recruitment process should be long term and independent of the manager's short term preferences.

There is no way that any single individual is going to be able to make the right judgements on what players we need - the situation is a whole lot more complex than that. We're moving in the right direction with Baldini and the chief scout being rehired - all we need now is a coach who understand that it is his job to get the best out of the players at the club rather than moaning about needing different ones

To a reasonable extent, a manager should have the playing staff that he wants. However, yes a lot can still be achieved without wholesale changes to the squad. As I pointed out earlier, look what Rodgers has achieved at L'pool with very few changes in personnel.

As to value. Value of a player, like many things, is subjective. If a particular player is the missing piece in your particular "jigsaw" then he is priceless to you. That may not be the case with the same player at another club.

Well, as has been previously discussed, why are seemingly good players underperforming? You can draw your own conclusions. Plus, as I have pointed out before, the squad is unbalanced. We have far too many similar midfield players, we desperately need a top class striker/poacher, need to strengthen the defence, and to find the nous to break down opposition defences. We never looked like scoring yesterday - once again!...

2) we kept bale the previous season (as Liverpool did with Suarez this season) but failed to get top 4...why? Cos Levy employed the wrong man in AVB which most spurs fans opposed.

On top of this the DoF is said to be in danger of being replaced just a year after joining us and the manager is being rumoured to be replaced in the summer...the club has refused to deny either of these on going, long running stories.

Its a case of 'Hobsons choice' for Levy, and for that matter, any other Footballing Chairman RDBD. Do we really expect Levy & Co to go out and purchase a new set of tools every year. In any case, managers should expect to work with the tools at their disposal,... at least until they can afford their own.... if you know what I mean.

I would agree with your scenario about AVB., the only thing I would add perhaps, is that his particular hammer needs a new head.
