Change the ****ing record Sku!! We hugely miss a coach who a) gives a **** and b) actually coaches!! Starting with Hughes and the god-awful BAE as wing backs was simply criminal. He is worse than clueless!
This. Yes we may not be playing well & tactics could/should be better but we have been affected worse than any other promotion chasing teams with injuries/suspensions so aren't able to play with a consistent team.
Its got to the point where virtually anyone else would be better, its late but I can't think of a manager who I'd like less than Redknapp. Even crap ones like megson.
Its a shame we haven't got a fb with pace and a great engine, ideally one who got motm recently.... Hughes as WB, lol. What next Dunne as a winger?
There's no record to change, rangercol. It's self evident to all that we are better organised with Joey Barton playing. You know as well as I do, that we lack a vocal midfield leader; as yesterday again served to prove.
Whatever happens now I think any sane person would agree the Harry Redknapp chapter in QPR's history has been a complete waist of time and a non starter. As much as I want us in the top flight playing the bigger teams we are clearly not ready for this again right now. We still need to more or less start from scratch before we can even dream of going up and scraping 0 - 0 draws in the prem with the management and squad we currently have. I would still like a good day out at Wembley if we can get there and also if we somehow manage to win the playoffs then great, we would have a happy summer as fans from this experience. This summer of happiness would be instantly undone by the doom and gloom of being in the bottom three all season getting whipped week in, week out. Sadly but very truthfully we need to start from scratch at this level with a younger squad and new coaching set up before we can dream the big dream again.
Barton would have been in instead of Henry. That would have made zero difference to that terrible first half, playing with two wing-backs who will never be wing-backs as long as they have a hole in their arse! In fact, our back 3 would have been far more exposed than they were, as Henry did a good job of protecting them. Barton isn't a holding midfielder.
list of managers who would take over must be ginourmous for the sort of money tony gets tricked into handing out I might even put my name forward
I don't agree with that a'tall. How can you say "whatever happens now"? He could still get us up into the Premier League FFS!. If we don't make it, its a huge difference than if we do. And I don't agree that if we go up we'll get whipped every week either. With all the contracts run out, we'd have a great opportunity in the Summer to bring in some good, positive, hard-working players. I agree with Dunne when he said that in a way this team is more suited for the PL than the Champ. Redknapp would keep us up with his own squad IF we manage to win the Playoffs IMO. For God's sake, don't write us off yet when we're top of the seven strong Playoff pack man!!
Plus we had 3 CBs as well, Henry is never needed as all he does is give the opposition the ball and bring therm into the game. Hes nowhere near good enough for the PL when wed need that type of signing in they PL. I said before, Im sure we thought we were getting the other Henry from wolves, its they only reason why i can think we signed this shocking player.
The prem is not the place to bed in a new squad or wait for a team to gel, look where it got us last time. Yes I very much want us to be there but the place to build a new team is in the championship. How many posters on here recon we have a team right now with the quality to perform in the top flight? I'm sorry if I come across as a naysayer but I'm just keeping it real!
Its not something I'm noted for. More of a pragmatist to be honest. But we do have just as much chance as a clutch of other Clubs of nicking that one remaining spot, added to the fact that I realise its terribly difficult to bounce straight back up at the first attempt. Roughly 25% chance. So by using that pragmatic approach, from the outset I viewed anything other than midtable this year as a good return. Wigan and Reading were far better equipped to deal with the Ch'ship this season in my opinion but we're currently outdoing the pair of them. Rather than being an optimist, UTR, I don't build my hopes up to unrealistic levels only for them to be dashed on the rocks like what seems to have happened a number of fellas on this here Board.
