Hang on........ Peacocks can't fly, at least not properly Peacocks can fly but only 2% of the time. In an effort to escape a predator, a peacock can fly for a short stint in order to roost in safety. In flight, a peacock may launch up to 8 feet high and travel no more than 300 feet. Peacocks learn to fly from their mothers; most have acquired this ability by 6 months of age.
