My company, when it was still on the go, tried 'em all, Dell, Toshiba, Asus, IBM, Acer, HP, Sony, etc. Dell head and shoulders above the rest. I'm using an Asus now (I have to buy them with my own money these days ) it's ok but not a Dell.
I changed to Macs at 52 so no, your never too old, and have you seen the latest Mac adverts on Tv, all the cool people use them, ha

I'm still on a 2011 iMac - upgraded the memory and hard disk (SDD) myself, works as well as Day 1 for everything I need to do - office apps, internet, iTunes etc. It would probably struggle for gaming, but then if you're a serious gamer I guess you'd be into home built/ultra PCs anyway. Before that, I had a MacBook, which still works absolutely fine, and runs Windows XP faster than any PC I've ever had.
Well my Acer Nitro 5 arrived yesterday mate, I streamed a movie, Green Book, on it for the first time last night and it was absolutely faultless. I also bought a Chrome Cast so that we could project it onto the TV and it worked brilliantly. This lap top is currently £699 at Curry’s but it’s £599 at Argos, I got another 10% discount as my Mrs works at Sainsbury’s. I’d highly recommend it, whether you want to just watch on the lap top or project to your TV. If you need any further info just ask pal. Well happy! https://www.argos.co.uk/product/9174243
