We've already used our 2 loans and if we freed one up, it's be used to get a striker on loan. McShane (who's improved vastly since the last time you'll have seen him) is only in the side due to an injury to James Chester and they're both centre-halves anyway.
Fair enough. Im used to seeing McShane over the years playing for Ireland and he always looked like he was going to make a mistake, he will put the effort in though.
I am stumped on kelly. why is his return taking so long cos may he was training. if he fails to cut his hair and get on with it i think we'll be seeing him gone in short order. we cannot afford to see flanagan come in in a big game again cos kelly aint up to it.
Kelly was struggling with fitness so that's why Flanno was picked ahead of him. Saw Kelly a few times in the u21 recently and is still a bit scratchy - will take time.
Kelly had a big injury, like Lucas. When Lucas returned he just got injured again. We must have learnt from that.
Kelly returned last may, had 3 months over the summer to grow his hair but also to actually train and do recovery. he did preseason and that was august! its now november and he is still not fit? that doesn't add up for me. I have seenthe u21s and he does look out of it. we have to stand up and admit that this doesn't look right and needs resolving... and that resolution worst case means he leaves the club!
think we should cut our losses personally. RB CB what position is he supposed to play. RB - Johnson is first choice and Mclaughlin i would take a chance on before Kelly as RB is expected to do a bit of running down the wings, so less chance of his injury problem going. CB - Agger,Sakho,Illori,Skrtel all ahead of him there, so when is he going to get game time, he isnt really. conservative guess, but Kelly is probably on 40k a week wages, maybe more, and he is always injured, Mclaughlin is on nowhere near that i wouldn't think and not that far behind Kelly in terms of development, if at all, so we could use that money wages wise for a decent player for the first team , preferably one that can stay fit. if anyone can see a reason to keep him fair enough, but for what position, and how we going to use him when other players ahead of him.
that i did my bad, esp Toure ffs lol even more players in front of an injury prone maybe future star, although Coates i don't see a future here personally.
I really did rate Kelly but can we afford to be sentimental with some of these players? Rodgers made a bold move in getting rid of Reina this summer, and FSG have sacked Borrell etc so nothing will surprise me now. Personally, Kelly is a talented player - given time, he will come good I feel but only if we move him into the central for the sake of his body.

exactly about time it was the case of no one is bigger than the club again, but some players they know they are safe in their positions, we need to get it to a point where if they don't perform they get dropped and we have a proper replacement to come and not potential type player or youngster. i think that's what Brendan is now trying to do, but we wont really know until Jan if he is looking at proper cover for Gerrard or someone who can push him for a spot, so he had better pull his finger out. get Flanno,Kelly and Coates off the wage bill and bring in better ones is a good start.
I hate seeing teams name a permanent captain, especially the England team. It should be the best man for the job out of the eleven that have been selected but ATM it seems to be a guarantee to play for the captain.
kelly is on nowhere near that. that was rumoured when his contract came up but in actual fact he signed a 25k per week contract with a top up for evry 1st team game played... or so it seems. Thats aspas money. If he were on 40 k... and skertl is on 70k... mind that one... then i'd shift him. I think no 1 has to be whats the issue with getting back to fitness and why is he sporting that silly hair cut.
