I agree there's something wrong with how we're playing in the final third.

But we played well today especially in the 1st half. Exactly how we should be playing. We controlled the midfield and therefore controlled the game. We won tackles, 50/50's and started off attacks and created some chances but a lot of the times lacked pace and movement up front. We actually played through the middle which I've been moaning about for ages so it was great to see.

If today showed one thing, it's that his 11 players plus the youngsters he's brought through are EXACTLY the right way to go. He needs to stick with them, because they gave their all today tbf. Having said that, there is something wrong with the way we play in the final third and that MUST change. If he doesn't sort it then that's on him. I hear we're in for another striker in January, plays for Sevilla?

I surely hope that we are not out there looking to buy yet another striker. Three strikers have had very little success under ETH’s system and the outfield players are not evolving quickly enough.

With Ratcliffe closing the deal today, we can expect major changes. He will be a massive catalyst for change, that’s for sure! And things certainly can’t get any more rotten.

We need one though! Hojlund clearly can't do it without some support, and Martial shouldn't play for us again.

Got to switch to 4 3 3 as well.

**** this McFred ****, doesn't work, never has.

I believe Fred would have been useful for us this season when the midfield has struggled so much to produce. What I would give to get the goals from the glorious McFred era.

There’s also a host of ‘experts’ blaming Bruno. Throughout the season, we’ve blamed the whole squad… Rashford, Bruno, Mount, McTominay, Sancho, Casemiro, Antony, Martial, it just never ends! It seems anyone that puts on the shirt is never good enough to play for the great Manchester United. Or is it?

We haven't lacked for investment in the playing squad but what we have lacked is joined up thinking and clear vision as to where the squad is going. look at City, snapping up unheard of £19m players, developing them within the City group of clubs and then amalgamating them into the Pl squad or selling them on. Perhaps with JR's links we will begin a similar development programme and stop the knee jerk signings that have marked out many of the last few windows.

We need to be on top of decline in performance before it manifests itself on the field, and to have already scouted replacements, we need to be bolder in bringing on the likes of Mainoo rather than perpetually sending them out on loan to non PL clubs - overall our entire recruitment and development programme needs a complete overhaul. This partial takeover is a first step in what will be a long road - don't expect any quick fixes and marquee signings.

McFred is a term for the two supposedly 'holding' midfielders who 'protect' the centre halves.

It's all so ****ing clichéd it's beyond belief now. We don't need to do it. Nor did we ever need to.

We've got to leave the back four to their own jobs and play a midfield three behind an attacking three and start playing some decent football.

Agree though, and said it at the time, we sold the wrong part of the McFred partnership.

McShit should be long gone, and Fred should have stayed.

The term McFred was very derogatory to Fred, it lumped the two into the same bracket when Fred was actually quite a good/talented progressive midfield player who lnked with attack when possible and got in/around the area to boost the numbers and help the attack.

I still find it fascinating that you label him that name when you once called fans booing Maguire a disgrace - rightfully I may add!

If McTominay is so shyte and has scored more goals than anyone else in the team, what does that really say about the rest of the players that are not so McShit? Yes, I get it, it’s not all about goals or flavours of the month. But what other flavours are out there? None, is the answer!

The two biggest problems with McTominay is that he lacks discipline and disappears from midfield when he's needed. Secondly he breaks down almost every attack by giving the ball away when it's passed to him.

Yes he's scored goals, but when I weigh up the pros and cons, the cons mentioned above far outweigh the pros.

I used to be a big critic of Fred before Ten Hag arrived. Under him, Fred was a player who improved massively and I changed my opinion of him. We definitely sold the wrong mf out of the two. I think his loss has shown a lot this season.

Referring to one of our players as **** on an Internet forum is not the same as going to a game and booing one of the players on the pitch, sorry.
