Impact on the watford way of EPPP- contingency in place, will be part of category 1 or 2 and could actually impact us positively. The main issue is the definition of how good an academy is.
Herefield method will be followed by the EPL and we do not know where we stand based on that. But they want to continue operating at the highest level we can.
GT- EPPP put in place so that the EPL clubs have it easy to get the best pick of the young players. Hard to see WFC getting into category 1. Could cost a lot of money to be Category 1. So once again it comes down to money!! RW v GT on the EPPP is an interesting discussion
GT: "EPPP put in place for the benefit of Premier League clubs" Watford and Middlesbrough two of the best academy producing clubs, but at the moment will be Category 2 academies. Category 1 could cost a fortune.
GT reckons we will be in category two in EPPP. He makes no bones about the fact that it's the top flight who are pushing through the criteria. If they are decided incorrectly, the Premier league will be ****ing up the futures of young lads who might otherwise have made it into professional football with the support of better academies.
GT taking issue with Fergie. There is a lot of sense being talked on the subject of young players. FL very slow in getting to grips with the issue.
GT- can you confirm he is in for the long haul?? He is here under certain conditions and was in the right mind when he left. he is not a full time chairman, and cannot commit to a full time roll
GT asked if he is in it for the long haul. "Football was changing and I didn't like it." He describes his upbringing with a sports journo father. I don't want to be here full time. I cannot commit to being here full time. He will not agree to his future plans.
GT: "I don't want to come back into football full-time. If I'm not doing the job or people want to replace me, that's fine."
Bassini apparently does listen, but maybe doesn't take those things on board. He is probably not as reliable as he could be and acts on a whim. Maybe the bankruptcy wont affect him. But he is raising questions about him. Slightly worrying.
I am all for the forum but do we really want to hear that GT doesn't really get on with or trusts/likes LB
VitalWatfordVital Watford Message in from non-executive direct, David Fransen. Regrets he is not there and thanks supporters for their attendance.
Are the bond payments financeable and are we running a loss? Its tight and cash flow is managed tightly. There has been proof of funds provided and we are able to operate.
Are we running at a loss? Trading is in balance. To date the money has been there. Baz has been put under pressure by the board to conform and get a system in place.
