Kev, you may be jesting but a lot of what you say makes sense. I think there are far too many clubs in Leicester's situation, just as there are too many clubs that are being used as an ego-enhancer by their owners, who have no real interest in the history and traditions that they inherit. Of course,it could be argued that the Pozzos are only interested in us as long as we remain a vehicle for making money, but at least we are less likely to go bust and finish up ripping-off small businesses and organisations such as St John's.
This what Paul Ince said on the loan situation: "I personally don't think it's right. I don't think you should be able to go and bring in 14 loan players from different clubs, I like people who are here for the duration. People who are here to play for the fans and play for the club. When you're on loan, how much feeling have you got for the club because you're going back in 2 or 3 months time. So they can get promoted on these 14 loan players that they've brought in and they'll be back in Italy next year, I don't understand it."
No wonder he's been a failure as a manager - he has an obvious reading problem which limits his understanding of the world around him.
I know fans don't have the time or application to check out facts on the internet etc you would think managers might...just from a scouting POV!
Mmmmmmm Mr ince or should that be Mr ignorant. Our loanees are more committed to the club than many a journeyman signed on in the past. The one thing about modern football is that teams are in the main made up of transient career professionals playing for teams because they have been signed on commercial terms and even whilst signing on are looking for the next deal. Thankfully at Watford we seem to be able to get guys who play for the shirt which distinguishes us as a team and not a bunch of mercenaries Mr ince so please do me a favour and go forth and don't multiply as can't stick the likes of you and the ignorant westcountryman Ian hollowayoutoftouchwithreality shytforbrains
No doubt Wince will be pulling back Kevin Phillips from loan at Palace then? Stupidity is rife in football, we should not be surprised at all
I find other managers ranting about the situation encouraging...it suggests they know we're better than the teams they put out!
Very true...whatever people think of the number of overseas players we have they cannot say such guys haven't put in the effort and been ready to perform in ALL conditions and against any team. Maybe having Zola as manager helps...afterall he is one of the greatest foreign players to have played in the Premier league and his disclipline/passion for the game has probably rubbed off onto the team. He certainly didn't just come over "for the money" and to have a "good old whinge about the weather/country"
Has Ince been manager anywhere for more than a year? No, so what is "the duration"? Does Ince care about the team he represents? He probably thinks he does but really he cares about the Ince family income stream.

It's one of the things that you really notice when we score, the whole team are totally together and the loanees seem even more so. FF was almost in tears on Tuesday night when he scored. This is without a doubt one of the closest and together Watford teams that I have ever witnessed.
I see that it is being quite widely reported that Nigel Pearson at Leicester has been told he has to win this weekend or he is out. Just the time in the season to create upheavel.
What are you talking about, Frenchie. It is called 'motivation'. Obviously you come from the wet school of motivation that believes in carrots. Carrots are a bloody vegetables. Now the stick is clearly the sort of motivation that Nigel Pearson needs. Sticks leave scars that the receiver can contemplate long after your carrot has rotted away.
Are you suggesting NZ that if he is given a good thrashing he will regard that as normal and keep a selection of birches and belts in the dressing room for half-time use?
It's preferable to being given a thrashing by the opposition (says he quickly backing away from the direction this conversation is going!)
