In case anyone didn't see my earlier post on the Sunday thread, I thought it was worth a separate thread given what happened on Sunday.

I'm really puzzled by the two 6f races at the Curragh on Sunday 13th August. The time difference was 0.05 secs. The 2yo race was a G1 and they all carried 9.3. The G3, run just 30 mins later, was a wfa race with the 4yo winner carrying 9.7. If the 2yo had been in that race he would have been carrying 7.7

. What?

Using basic conversion rates used by BHA that 28lbs is equivalent to nearly 10l which equates to roughly 1.67 seconds. The G3 race was recorded as slow by 0.77 so, on that basis, the 2yo would have completed the race in 0.9 secs fast. Does that sound reasonable?

Racing Post Ratings perched both winners on the same mark (115). The highest rated sprinter, on their workings in 2017, is Battash on 125 (although Lady Aurelia is on 124 and with her fillies allowance would come out on top, according to them, if they met in a Group 1) so Washington DC has a fair way to go to trouble him.

Sioux Nation now, according to them, the highest rated 2YO of 2017 thus far.
