tbf to Suarez it's never been about the money with him. I can see him leaving if we don't get CL [but only to Spain], and only giving us one more season if we do make CL because he's got more ambitions than CL alone, like playing with the best players in the world before he retires. I can't see us getting world class players even if we are in CL simply because it isn't in the owners plans.

get world class players? I can't see it happening with the owners working on a value for money/youth with potential/reasonable wages policy. We're looking to buy cheap skilful youngsters and convert them into world class players.

Just dont do the 'Typical Liverpool' thing of fecking it up against a team like Fulham! <yikes> I think Saturday you sent out a clear signal to the rest of the league so please dont feck it up by getting beat on Wednesday! <ok>

JB isn't that thought the wrong way round? To my mind Suarez would want to play AGAINST the best players in the world - hence his desire for CL football. At LFC he knows he's wanted, he get paid well and his family appear settled. Therefore if we get CL footbball AND keep building better and better sides then I think that will satisfy both him and us!

His desire for CL football is to play against the best players no doubt, but I also think he wants to be playing alongside the likes of Ronaldo and Messi week in, week out. He had CL football with Ajax and was settled but had ambitions to play in the PL - possibly the best league in the world - before retiring to Spain to play with the best players in the world. Your last sentence would be an ideal scenario for us though!

The owners have always maintained that we cannot be paying players CL wages when we haven't been in the competition for a few years - I would assume we could open the purse strings a bit if we did qualify but prob not 100k to anybody due to the risk of not making it the following year.

Not doing any business in January would be good for summer transfer budget if we get there too - could be very exciting

Happy the game's back on (if it was ever off?), though. Time to kick on, Reds!
