Whilst I agree that you are getting the short end of the stick. You can't expect "morality" and favours from us. He is our player and the club will decide what is the best for them. Whether that is recalling him, or selling him on instead of missing out on a fee.
Splitty - I understand why it would appear morally dubious, but if Forest had the opportunity to make even £5k extra by recalling a loaned player and selling to a different club, they'd do it. All clubs would. There's nothing Forest or City fans can do about it.
I could be wrong but as i understand it the contract/agreement we had was that he was with us until the end of the season on loan and you had a window to recall him in the Jan transfer window only in case of Emergency. I dont believe you would be able to sell him outside of this window as he was contracted to Forest, or at least Hull were. im not sure it really matters but i dont think you were looking to sell him outside of the UK anyway.
I'd suggest that if you were willing to pay £1m for him, he wouldn't have been recalled, I think the only reason he's back with us is to force you to cough up. There's no way Reading were offering more than that and we'd be more than happy with £1m for him.
""It's been pretty normal between the clubs. In an ideal world they would have wanted to keep him until the end of the season so they could have him for nothing, but I've got to do everything I can to look after the club. We've got close to £1m for him so we're delighted." Quote from Bruce, seems pretty much agreed. Unless we pulled out?
Get that tight Scottish dwarf to persuade your owners to cough up the cash then. Anyone would think Billy was having to buy Hobbs out of his own money. Don't blame us if Reading outbid you and you are too slow to react.
He isnt liked in all quarters of CG either. but in fact it has been the other way around Fawaz has been happy to back Billy with what ever he wants, but Billy has pulled out of deals where it looks like people were trying to take the piss and doesnt want to waste Fawaz's money and yes we have cash, Fawaz is rich himself but is also part of the Kuwaiti royal family, so yes has a few quid
Apparently we have recalled him as you are unwilling to pay up and are waiting until deadline day to try and get him on the cheap. Immoral if you ask me
I suspect Forest were also hoping to get Danny Graham on a cheap loan deal until Bolton's interest muddied the waters even further
if thats the case then its our fault if we dont get him signed, and if we do get him on the cheap it will be Hull's fault for trying to be a little too greedy. We will see.
I'm pretty sure we can sell to clubs outside the prem as long as their window is open. Hence why teams in Italy etc can still buy our players if their window is open slightly later.
What's the reason behind your username? Genuine question! It's not because you have a VW Splitscreen '62 is it?
It's business. If he doesn't wish to sign for Reading he doesn't have to. And if you don't wish to cough up for him, you don't have to either. Either way, we're not a ****ing charity.
I wasn't suggesting he'd move abroad, just explaining that we can sell a loan player without any need to recall him.
@FAWAZ_ALHASAWI ‏@fawaz_alhasawi1 I completely respect Hull's decision. We'll continue to monitor Jack's situation closely. I would like to thank him for his efforts at #nffc @FAWAZ_ALHASAWI ‏@fawaz_alhasawi1 I also understand our fans’ frustrations, however please be assured we are doing all we can to strengthen in this window. #nffc
