Once Hobbs is fit again he'll probably be back in the team alongside Chester. Everyone seems pretty happy with the signing though, be interesting to know who the other Championship interested in him was.
Gerrard wanted to go back to Cardiff City for the final year of his contract so that he could choose his next move. Once Cardiff signed Ben Turner from Coventry half way through the season his time was up. Now he can choose himself whats best. I am surprised that Blackpool or Burnley have not made a move for him so far. It may have been Watford after Faye. They have just lost Adrian Mariappa to Reading. Just a thought.
If we're going with a back 3 then we'll start the season with Faye, Chester, and McShane. When Hobbs comes back it'll be for McShane. That allows Cooper all this season to develop under little/no pressure and then next summer you're looking at it becoming Cooper, Chester, Hobbs, and a signing being the 4 centre backs for next season. (Faye and McShane both being out of contract next summer so if Faye extends that's still a signing)
