I've seen a lot of YouTube highlights and take them as just a bit of fun usually as anyone can look good but after watching that I'm really impressed he looks brilliant, great first touch and an uncanny awareness of those around him.
If we sign him he'll be 16 by the Summer too early for the first team but if he really is that good it would b tempting at times.
If you're good enough, you're old enough... Obviously can't judge him based on one youtube video, but if he's already got the quality, let him train with the first team and see how he gets on.
Just so I'm up to speed here...are we now saying a unsigned Norwegian 15yr old is the savoir of our season...?
Anyone can look good in youtube but what's impressive is he's confident and happy to try things against men in an adult professional league. How demoralising if you're a 30 year old defender and some kid half your age rocks up and just outclasses you
F*ck me, I knew there was a lot of hype around him, and I agree that YouTube can make anyone look decent, but that highlight reel for a 15 year is insane. Hopefully we can get him here.
Real Madrid, City and Chelsea are also after him. Depends if he wants to play or sit in the reserves. We would play him, we would have to as our midfield is pants at present and will not improve for another year or so as the new signings come in, he would fit in nicely with the rest coming of age.
Norwegian prodigy Martin Odegaard spent some time at Liverpool's Melwood training ground on Thursday as part of his visit to the club as he weighs up his next move. The teenager, who turns 16 later this month, is one of Europe's hottest properties and has already made similar trips to Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund, Real Madrid and Manchester United among others. Odegaard, who became the youngest player to feature in a European Qualifier when he played against Bulgaria aged 15 years and 300 days, currently plays for Stromsgodset in Norway. He will be able to sign a formal professional contract when he turns 16 on December 17 and is a self-confessed Liverpool fan like his father, who accompanied him on his visit to Merseyside which also included a tour of Anfield. "Liverpool have always been my dream club," Odegaard said last month. "But I will not let this affect my decision when I choose a new club. "It's all about finding the team that is best for me and for my development. That is not necessarily Liverpool." Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers is aware of the youngster's quality. Speaking last month he said: "I know he's a big talent, at that age to be playing senior football at 15 and in a competitive league. "He's got wonderful ability and wonderful talent."
