Not all players are mercenaries. Maybe Shaw has a bit of loyalty for the club that gave him a chance?
He's just been tied into a 5 year contract - if he started agitating for a move he can go play with the reserves until a bid matching the clubs valuation came in. His value to us is a minimum of 20mn. As it happens, he seems quite a level headed, grounded young player and doesn't appear to want a move. Hell, he probably realises that it's better for his longer term development to be playing PL football every week than warming the bench for a 'big club'. The upper echelons of the PL are littered with pl In two or three years time he can then make a big money move to a big club and actually be first choice. It's relevant because in order to debate you actually have to understand what the other person types.
sure it is possible .. but most probably that is not the case .. i love to see players saying NO to big clubs, but in all honestly I lost faith on Players loyalty to their clubs .. and will respect Shaw if he said No to us or chelsea
comn man .. i do planning applications (including design statements) for my company and never seen any council come back criticizing it and they all got apparoved have 100% record .. haha but may be people working in the planning department are just worst but in a test, they mixed the letters of a word and even the grammar and a kid was able still to read it and understand it !! don't be a Grammer nazi ..
I didn't say it didn't exist, I just said that the buy-out clause is probably way more than the £15mn you're suggesting. There's not a whelk's chance in a supernova that he'd go for under 20mil, probably 25. Even if he has no loyalty, he seems to have a brain and realises that he'll be worth more in two or three years time playing week in, week out for Saints than he would if he goes for a paltry £15mil now. For the sake of example, let's assume that Saints would sell for 10-15mn now and a big club made a firm offer. The player has a choice 10-15mil now as an 18yr old or wait two years, develop as a footballer and get to play then move for double that in two-three years. Assuming he has a brain, what would he do? Specially seeing as he saw Alex Chamberlain leave and have his footballing development slowed at a 'big club'. Theo Walcott probably also moved a season or two too early from us to a 'big club'. He knows very well what damage moving too early can do to a player and I think he's intelligent enough to know this season is at least two too early. It's the random shortening of words and atrocious spelling (i.e. somehow worse than mine), not just your grammar that is the bar to my fully understanding you. But how about you answer some of my points rather than continually building straw men for me to knock down.
Killer - it's not his **** English that makes him impossible to fathom, it's the fact that he's got the intelligence of a garden shed mate. You'd get a more intelligent discussion out of my cat, don't waste your time mate
yeahh am the hypothetic who whined about how Moyes did the immoral thing trying to sign his ex-players, while completely ignoring that your manager is doing the same didn't you got pi$$ed off from me just after highlighting that ?
fair point but don't forget that the clause is something demanded by the player not the club to make it easier for them to join a bigger club in later stage .. so am not Sure Saint can put an exaggerated figure too, both sides need to agree about one figure that sound fair for both sides and yes, Shaw should stay a couple of years benefiting from the first team opportunity while playing with the Saints pushing his career further, I totally agree with you on that .. in the other hand, playing for UTD or Chelsea will put him in the map and will make him play in highest level of football and be called to the england squad, do you think Zaha, jones, Smalling, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain or Wallcot would had got that early call to play for england if they stayed at their previous clubs?
Martinez confirms there has been no further approach from Manchester United over Fellaini and Baines #MUFC
Martinez on Fellaini and Baines Bid from United: 'It's getting out of hand, it is affecting the minds of the players.' #MUFC
No, but only because of the short-sightedness of the England management - but that's a whole other topic. Don't get me ranting on it, either.
To be honest mate, having listened to Martinez latest interview, I'm quite chilled about it. As he said there'd been no 2nd bid after the £28m joke offer. He intimated that Kenwright was livid about the entire issue & that we had no intention of doing anything, unless daft money landed on the table. If SAF & Gill were still in charge I'd be resigned to losing the pair of them, but I think Moyes & Woodward will dither & ultimately not place a bid that's at the level where we'd consider it too good to refuse.
I can imagine how the players feel. It is not often that you are wanted by a very big club (one of the top three sides in the world at least). It is fact once in a lifetime opportunity and they'll be turned into global superstars, recognisable in every country. They will also play in the champions league. Everton obviously will need to weigh the offer against having two players whose value will decrease over the years and who will be unhappy for a time about missing a lifetime opportunity. £35-40 million by Woodward should do it. FFS it is not their money afterall. It is the fooking Glazers and United should not exist to increase the profits/dividends they extract from the club ...
