I think that's different, Terry joined us when he was 14 an age where a lot of kids support the best clubs. I doubt he still supports United.
Saints fan here - Shaw's not going anywhere for a couple of years yet. Why would he go to United or Chelsea to sit on the bench when he's one of the first on the team sheet week in week out here. When he finally does go, it'll probably be to Chelsea for an insane amount of money. We made Arsenal pay £15mn + add-ons for Chamberlain when we were in league 1 & he wanted to leave. Shaw's a better player, we offer PL football & by all accounts he wants to stay here for now so if you want him, we will make whoever it is pay through the nose for him if you want him now. Even in a few years time we're talking about a player that is better than Bale at the same age (though I think Shaw will stay at LB, not move into midfield) - think of his price tag when he's fully developed in his early 20s...
Dead right mate its clear Matth doesn't have any grasp about how football works as you can tell by his comments.
Don't see the point signing Baines when evra is just as good the only thing he is better is free kicks
Just age is better and as you say free kicks, other than that, nothing in it, save the dosh and buy another mid
you will not let him go for 10m, no one here have the slightest hope of getting him with such a small figure but i think any figure between 15-20m should be ok, then we will be having big chance I remember anyway that i heard around there was a buy out clause in his contract for certain premiership clubs (which included UTD and chelsea) .. nothing is confirmed though more when the source was some twitter accounts, and i honestly expect Shaw to add such clause with certain fee which could be around 15-20m and tbh the reason you mentioned that Shaw could develop more increasing his price tag, could become the main reason why it will make more sense for the big clubs to go for him now rather than pay double or treble the money later on the real QS is, is there any club ready to pay 15-20m gamble on a young player ?
Really? http://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/2892...carthy-kone-wont-be-sold-on-the-cheap-insists Whatever you think of what Moyes has done bidding for Fellaini and Baines, if Martinez goes back to Wigan he will almost certainly start with a low offer that will be refused. It's standard practice for any football club operating within a budget - even if the manager thinks the players are worth more the board won't sanction an opening bid that is high enough to have a serious chance of being accepted. First rule of negotiation: if your first bid is accepted, you offered too much. I can see why Everton rejected the opening bid, and it is too low, but I also don't see why they're taking it so personally. Didn't Terry say his dad and grandad supported Utd, and telling his dad he was joining Chelsea was one of the hardest things he'd ever had to do? I think it will be similar with Shaw - if he wants to have a great career then the club he supports will go out the window and he'll choose the one that's right for him as a player. Pretty sure Utd were in for Terry at age 14 too, and he got the full SAF treatment - showing him the training ground, discussing his career, meeting his idols etc. But he said he felt he would fit in better at Chelsea (probably the swastikas on the changing room walls ) so he chose to go there.
Saints Have no debt and have the player tied into a 5yr contract - we don't need to sell. If we managed to sell a 16yr old Alex Chamberlain for £15mn (a player that wanted the move), you can bet it will cost far more to persuade the club to sell Luke. Talk 25-30mn and Cortese might pick up the phone to start negotiations.
well tbh clubs do sell and not all bcz they are in debt, clubs are forced to sell bcz players do include clauses to join bigger club, and bcz bigger clubs often wins the battle, in fact i hardly remember seen a smaller club turned down a big money offer from a big club, and even if the club resisted the first offer(s), that will not last long as the player himself will want to force the move there was some rumors around in twitter that there was a clause in Shaw's contract to join a bigger club .. is it true or not? no one can know, but i doubt any agent or player will not include that clause those days , so my guess it is true anyway good luck guys
Is English your first language? Seriously, you really need english lessons. But to answer what I think your question is - there have been no rumours or leaks regarding a release clause in Shaw's contract. And no lawyer worth his salt would put one in about "join a bigger club"[sic] - if it exists it would either specify the club(s), an amount of money or both.
How the player behaves when a bid comes in can also have an effect, I reckon if any of the top 4 wanted him he would be going for less than 20mil that's if he wanted to leave.
English is not his first language, but that's not relevant. Please just stick to debating the topic, not the person thanks
English is not my first language , and i appreciate if you focus on the content than being a grammar nazi regarding the clause, so you think shaw or his agent didn't include one ? seriously? with all eyes around the player, his agent said ,.. nahh why force a sell and win more money? i remember the rumor about his contract's buy out clause was in some twitter accounts some months ago sure twitter is not reliable , but you can't say it don't exist, as we have nothing offical released about clauses included in his contract
