I'll let Everton FC answer this one for you; "Everton can confirm that it has received bids from Manchester United for two players. Those bids were immediately rejected out of hand as derisory and insulting. "The Club did not make public these details as it was vital Roberto Martinez’s preparations for the opening game of the Premier League season were not disrupted in anyway." Alan Myers Director of Communications
Everton statement re: bids for Fellaini and Baines from #MUFC: "Those bids were immediately rejected out of hand as derisory and insulting"
No club can realistically say they have no need for cash. There is always room for improvement of the squad. I can see United (Moyes) may have been a bit clumsy here but if at the end you Everton and United do a deal (I think both will eventually be sold to United for £35m- 40m) then all this will be forgotten.
that is not an answer to my QSs but it says your club want more or keep the players .. which is fair enough .. they are your players and you are free to accept the offer or not, it is a business at the end of the day, and every club can be greedy .. now is up to us whether we want to pay more than they worth or not.. that is the rule of the game
Losing our best 2 players with 10 days of the window left, is in now way going to improve our squad though is it? Any 'value' that we managed to squeeze of United by getting you to overpay would be immediately lost when we went to buy replacements (see Torres / Carroll deal for details) We've now stated publicly we found the bids insulting & we've made you & Moyes look small time tbh. I don't see you being prepared to pay what it'll take to land them, so we'll stick if that's Ok.
fair point, meanwhile heard your manager is already searching some replacement and had pointed out the alternatives , so it will not be a big issue to find replacements
Of course he'll have a contingency, that's his job, he has to cater for every eventuality. If you came back with £50m they'd be gone, so he'll have prepared for that situation, as the rumours have been dragging on all summer. I still don't think you'll put enough on the table personally, as both Moyes & Woodward both appear to be ditherers.
let us be clear here .. we are not talking about both players real value here, you simply want more as you are not in rush to sell pair of your best players if we don't add more than they worth.. .. fair enough
am just explaining why the hate started from your side yeah i'm the one with the laughable posts who says John Ruddy is better than Gea
We paid a total of £23.5m for the pair of them, so their real value is way in excess of your bid, so you've not even got close to that, let alone offered additional in order to force us to take the dosh. imo this is a ****s trick, a bid that was has the sole intention of unsettling both players, in the hope they'll hand in transfer requests & you'd be able to negotiate cheap fees. Bad enough when it's just to AN other club, but Moyes doing that to us? The slimey ginger twat, he'll get ****ing dogs abuse when he comes back to Goodison after this.
not really, Baines was far younger at that time, Baines will be 30 in one year time in December, sure he is not worth more than 12m we offered .. as you said by yourself, last season you give us the 20m fee to scare us off as it is no where near to his real value, so one year older, he worth less definitely and is not our problem that you paid alot for fellaini, i rate him personally at 18m-20m
It doesn't matter a toss what you value him at ffs. The mere fact that you're valuing him at the same level as Downing & barely more than Joe Allen, says it all about your knowledge of the player. £40m for Fabregas, £18m for Fellaini? haha yeah Ok then.
he is not as good as Cesc, yaya, Silva and Mata who joined new clubs for for less than 24-25m , unless you think he is better than them? Fabergas worth is 25m, but we are going higher to tempt them to sell .. 40m is not what he worth atm
We don't need Baines, he's decent and just that. Fellaini is worth 20m at most but we should be ready to pay more out of sheer desperation and I won't mind. But for Baines, no. And there are some who think Fellaini is worth 50m just because Lpool paid 35m for Carroll.
A players worth is what a club will sell and/or buy for..not some random number you put down on not606. You can compare it to other transfer fees all you like but it has no relation to it.
I think you've used the wrong word here. A player is worth what he's worth. The amount for which a club will sell him for is the transfer fee. Carroll ain't worth 35m nor is Baines worth more than 12m. And Bebe, hahaha.. ..
