Benno isn't a target man, far too weak and poor at heading. I do agree to some extent though Ponders, when we're winning, rather than chucking on Doherty in the past few minutes, bringing on a target man would be far more effective. Personally I've always been impressed by Odejayi at Colchester, and to a lesser extent, Showunmi for Tranmere, (if I remember quickly SuperChrissy[?] shot me down and said he used to go to school with one or the other).
That's alright WWOCB. Our school team was different class to be fair to him... . I've always been absolutely amazed that he made it as a pro. Right time right place i suppose...!!
You and me both Super...!! I remember when he scored against Liverpool i think it was, during and FA Cup tie. My phone didn't stop ringing with old school pals. The general question posed was: 'is that fella who's just scored against Liverpool the same useless big lump who couldn't get in our school side' . Fair play to him though. He's not the only pro footballer to have earned a living out of the game off the back of very limited ability. We've had a few of those down our place ay?
Strange - Did anyone else see that Stuart Fleetwood has joined Luton, after last season in League 2 I thought a higher placed team might put a punt on him (i.e. Crewe after they lost Clayton Donaldson)
