Last time i was in a wethersppons Billy (rip) travelled down to meet me for a day on the piss, 3 hours later he was in a heap and had to get a taxi home.

Was the last time i've been in a wetherspoons.

Dont see why you wouldn't tbh, cheap drinks okay food.

Yeah good range of drinks at a good price, better than some ****ty pub that does Carling, Strongow, bottles of Bud in the fridge for the kids and a bad attitude whenever you go to the bar. The app is superb.

It's the lack of background music and a drone of voices I can't stand.

Yeah, has its faults. Some background music would be good and a sports part maybe for watching the footy.

Yeah true. Price to pay for cheap booze I suppose. Alright for a cheap quiet night with the mrs.

I went in a wetherspoons in Leicester years ago that had music playing. They also had big screen TV's showing football!!!

I think it has 'quietly' been done on an exception basis ie at the request of managers, during big events. However, that is only ever a temporary basis during the event.

I guess impact would have to be measured against surrounding pubs (just a guess) - for example complete assumption, that if you have a pub near-by showing the event, then maybe not, but if they have no immediate competition in the vicinity maybe they do.

I don't think there was a big event on at the time. The TVs certainly didn't look temporary either. Could be wrong, only been to that establishment once

Yep. There seems to be a fair amount of pub snobbery on here. **** that. If it sells beer at a decent price, then I'm in.

Yeah its all bullshit
Most of the people on here talk utter **** anyway, so I wouldnt worry.

One down here shows footy regularly, or used to at least.
