I know Root will probably move on from captaincy, however he is still our best batsman by miles, (so do not piss him off) but we cannot always rely just on him. Desperate need for openers and a number 3 batter as well. Big mistake not taking Broad and Anderson...did Root agree or propose that?
I wouldn't have taken Broad or Anderson. They're finished and we need to bring some fresh players into the squad. I also think we need to integrate the Kookaburra ball into County cricket. Pretty much the rest of the world use this and, imo, a big reason as to why we struggle away from home. Our bowlers aren't used to a ball that you don't get much out of. The Duke ball swings all over the shop and takes the hard work out of the bowlers hands. 'Just pitch it up and let the ball do the work'. Lazy.
