Not an early thread, lads, just me underlining the necessity for us to keep our focus and get the three points. What a start that would be to this season - six points from two games and likely top of the table as well. And what a massive confidence boost for the lads to kick on towards our first target of 40 points.
Thing is we badly need to win this game otherwise the great result at QPR will have been nullified. Right now, those three points are a bonus and we want to keep it that way, just as in tennis where a break of serve isn't really that until you've held your own.
With no arrogance intended, I reckon we are two goals better than West Ham on our own patch. From what I saw of them last season, and the game against Villa, they seem to be a hard-working team with no frills but lacking the quality to turn us over - a typical Allardyce side.
I hope I'm not wrong but I'm sure that ML will pay them all due respect and get our lads to concentrate and work for the full 90 minutes. We need Ash and Chico to show that "they shall not pass" attitude they produced at QPR and it was good to see Ash put in such a performance with all the questions of unrest circulating about the training. As for Chico, I can see him becoming something of a cult figure with the fans - he just has that aura about him.
Roll on Saturday!!!!
