I’ll chip in a fiver. Would have been more, but I lost some dough on the King George at Kempton; which is actually the reason Saints won today btw, so it’s all good.
Wasn’t able to concentrate fully on the game as I was at my son’s and watching on a muted phone, which meant I didn’t once hear the commentator mention our habit of dropping points from a winning position. Looked like a good performance on the whole. Lovely move and strike for the first goal. Fantastic turn and run by Broja for the penalty, and one of JWP’s better efforts. Excellent free kick and flick on for the third. Two soft goals to concede, though. Antonio unmarked for the first and I think Bednarek was ball watching for the other, when having run back with the scorer, he totally lost sight of where Benrahma (?) was, although it was also good movement from Benrahma. Delighted with the 3 points.
I know it is easy to say now but that one was floating in my head as well. His base might be a bit high for them. They tend to rely on exceptional scouting and spinning a profit - not loans Makes me want to look at who their highest fee paid was Then it comes down to value of La Liga + Europe vs Premier League football Might depend on what competition they qualify for and what sort of fee they usually shell out (if we are talking a transfer)
Happy for everyone here with today's result. The important factor is that SFC have been picking up draws during the winless run, thus maintaining confidence. I believe the players were trying to.emulate Mo Farah in covering 10 km during the Match.
Good shout. But he’d be competing with En-Nesri and Rafa Mir for the one central striker position. To be fair Broja’s probably best of the three.
I think Sevilla dropped into the EL. I suppose it depends where Chelsea think his footballing education would benefit the most. I like the idea of Beddy's!!
Isn’t En-Nesri perennially linked with a transfer? And it is very much in their model to sell big Our benefit is we play two strikers usually so he always had a very good chance of breaking through this season Perhaps they might want to have him tried out in a lone role?
I more meant for next season but didn’t realise they were comfortably second. Must have mixed them up with Atletico who are back a little bit
The key thing here that we should be using to our advantage is that he's (seemingly) quite settld and happy here. This is why I think we should have be having these discussions now. Him and Chelsea must know that some stability with the same coach and team will only benefit his development at this age? At the moment it seems like we're the only real option. A lot can change by the summer though.
Our away fans must be a tough bunch. Someone at the back seems to be carrying an AK-47 please log in to view this image
We are very close to his home town and have two fellow Chelsea youngsters who he would have been in the academy with These things should help. Hopefully it can help us pick up on or two more as well
So.the players of SFC have now joined the pantheon of greats to have won at the Olympic/London Stadium.- Usain Bolt, Greg Rutherford, David Rudesia, Mo Farah, Jessica Ennis.
Just got back in to find we won, after missing the second half. I would point out my confident prediction that we would amass 20 points by Christmas, which was almost true, but would have happened anyway if the Brentford game had occurred. Amyway, what a brilliant victory! Is this the first win at Stratford United since they moved there? And where is @trixter_whu, I ask myself?
Think we won 3-0 on our first visit under Puel. Been battered every game since though. Be nice for Trix to show up. Sure he'd have appreciated that nice away win
A few years ago I would have been desperate for us to sign Broja, but these days it just means an extra 1-2 years before they move on. If we get a loan extension that would be fantastic.
That was a tough watch at times. So nervy as usual. But - what a result for us. Thanks @LTL but the real credit of course has to go to Lawro who finally backed us to win a game.
