I'd certainly take it. It shows how far we have come when this time last year we were a League one side and the Hammers were in the Premiership.

Hammers fan Jack, via text: "West Ham are playing rubbish football (if we can call it that) and it needs to stop. The red card may have been awful tonight, but we are much better than Southampton."

How about no. We dominated them in both games. They parked the bus and played hoofball.

When faced with West Ham pulling away from us with another 3 points and a game in hand, a draw was a sensational result. We are definitely back on track and I'm sure we can pull away from the pack. Still lots of games to go, but we are still in 2nd place and now one game nearer the finishing line.

Looked at the Beeb website again. Saints ended up with 54% of possession, and Solent's Adam Blackmore has just said CRAP on the radio [is that a swearword on the radio..?] I've looked at the league and somehow it all looks reasonably sweet. Lord knows how much Cortese is paying out to them. :D

I have to agree with this. As great as it is not to lose these games, the top 7 are tighter than ever. We needed to win one of the big away clashes. We've still not beaten any top 14 side away despite outplaying most !

There is a pressure on us to win a lot of games to stay where we are. Our promotion contenders are not going to ease off the gas. We don't just have one team chasing us down like last season, there's half a dozen on our backs.

It is a good point, take nothing away from that but we have to take our chance whilst we have this great opportunity. Ask Cardiff fans what it's like to fail at the final hurdle!

My blood pressure is just coming down off the ceiling, don't want too many games like that.

bit harsh that Alex. To come through our last 4 games unbeaten is a good run. Onwards and upwards now with a good run over the next few games.

How many of the top 14 have beaten us at our place? Take 4 pts from 6 off most your rivals then you'll do alright.

To be fair, the one's who really mattered, eg, Birmingham drew against Hull. The rest were coming from a longer way back. Not a bad night's work, in truth.

What is really getting up my nose tonight are the negative posters on the Daily Echo site, they are criticising the hell out of Adkins tactics, no need for Skate or Brighton WUMs on there, we have our own negative posters, grrrrrrr.

New players are still gelling, can only see us getting better between now and the end of the season. All players back fit, really time to push on now. COYS!

Agreed. Some people need to appreciate the opposition (both ours, and our rivals). We were playing West Ham; Cardiff, Boro and Blackpool were playing Posh, Forest and Doncaster. I think you have to accept the gap between us being cut with that in mind.

And over the next few days, weeks and months fixtures will work out in our favour - and it's only then that people should be really worried if our lead gets cut/overturned. Take the very next round of matches for example - it's Blackpool's turn to play West Ham, whilst we'll have the much easier (though still not straight forward) fixture against Derby.

Indeed, and this is how the league fluctuates. 2nd place, points on the board [I'll take that as a positive even though I like games in hand as well], and Saints are actually in a brilliant position, let's not forget.

You have to be sub-human to post on the Echo website.

Listening to Adkins post-match interview: he's so analytical, but so passionate that he barked his frustration - good for him.
He was kind to Sharp, I felt, but that's his nature. He knows what we we need to do. Keeping the faith, as if it was any effort.
