If you count their offside goal, it's a fair result so far. Frustrating, but overall it has been a good half, we still have goals in us in the second half, but so do they.
Monreal's all over the place and Sanchez appears to have given up on tracking back. That half could've been pretty much anything, in terms of the scoreline. Both sides really struggling at the back.
How the **** can you leave someone like Andy Carroll unmarked in the box as you are running out after a corner?
Carroll against Koscielny and Gabriel is a mismatch if I ever saw one. If I could see that, Wenger should have been able to see it too.
Wont knock Wenger for starting Ospina, he has been solid since he's come into the side, and Cech has just been declared fit, so it makes sense to keep going with Ospina. And TBF, Ospina could not do much about any of the goals.
Maybe bring Mert on, I don't see West Ham troubling us with pace, literally every threat and goal (including the offside) has come from the air.
Maybe on the balance of play it's a fair result so far, but I don't give a damn about that. To be 2-0 up by the 43rd minute and go into the second half all square is ****ing annoying.
**** happens, West Ham had an offside goal ruled out, so as annoying as it is, it is very fair. We could be losing 3-2.
Very very open game and for all our defensive frailties, pound for pound we are the better counter attacking side and I can see this ending up 4-3 to us hopefully.
Will we ever rectify our defensive issues under Wenger? Because we complain about the same things every season and nothing ever gets done.
Our defence should be able to cope with all types of players and it doesn't bode well that they are struggling with Carrol. Credit to West Ham for coming back but we shouldn't have let in two successive goals on the turn of half time, that was amateurish stuff. WE're still playing well up front and it could still go both ways, providing our players heads don't drop.
