Villa goal was a cracker too. We never have the same conviction when shooting. Its either a back pass or in the upper tier.
Its not really Husky. If someone had offered you five points from Newkie, W Brom, L'pool, Chel, Spurs and W Ham would you have taken it? I wouldn't. I would have been looking for at least nine. I know where you're coming from though mate. I'm just a pessimistic old c*nt. Who knows, we might beat City next week. Fair play to you for keeping the faith. I didn't keep it last season either!!!
Fair enough. When you put it like that it looks quite bad! But the problem really was not getting 3 points from the WBA game, not not getting 3 away a WHU. Surely? Don't think I ever stated I was an optimist, though. Just sick of the constant whinging (though I've been guilty of it myself). Surely people have seen us perform like this over the years?
West Brom have really let us down and been crap against the bottom teams. Hope Clarkie is going to put a fire up their arses at half time and batter Villa. We need a result from them!
That's precisely my point. Now you've got it mate. Its because we lost all season to sh*t teams that we're now forced to go and beat good teams. As I said above, in isolation these draws are decent, but when you realise that we must beat these good teams now to make up for all the dreadful results we've had, then these draws are pretty useless. That's just my opinion though.
Absolutely. Stupid Argie could well take Saints down. Geordies imploding, Wigan just sh*t. Who needs Villa or Reading? And we've now played Spurs and Chelsea twice, out of the 19 second half games. March will be our dream month.....
Right. Now we're on the same page. There's simply too much left to do, unfortunately. I'm really trying to alter my own attitude and look for a few positives in a very bad season. Just can't see the point in laying into HR for making 'bad' substitutions etc., particularly at a ground where (I think) we almost never get a thing; or slamming Derry for his passing ability, when a few weeks ago we were all clamoring for his recall due to the gaping great hole in front of our Back 4. Not that I'm putting words in your mouth, just stating generalities.
We are on the same page. Those having a go at Harry or Derry etc are being silly. They're doing the best they can and are grinding out some good results. Unfortunately, the position Hughes left us in means that these decent results just won't be enough. All anger should be directed at that Welsh clown.
We desperately need a midfielder who can knit things together, we're too frantic in possession and always seem to give it away. M'Vila would be perfect, that's why Harry is determined to nail him...
I completely disagree with anyone who says this is a good point. It's a terrible point,we're not attacking enough, and I'm not happy with harry seeming content with a draw every game while all the teams around us are going for it and winning. We're getting cut adrift now, and it's only going to get tougher. We haven't won a back to back game in the prem since 1995!! I'd rather us get relegated losing games 3-2 than 1-1 draws every week, and being battered by the opposition.......
I know what you mean sooper. Yet another game where I'm thinking its a good point because we were absolutely battered and holding on for fear life at the end. As teams at the top and bottom get more desperate towards the end of the season, we won't keep hanging on like this. I'm guessing its the lack of quality in our squad which is forcing Harry to make us play this way but I really hope we start having a go, like the teams around us. If he's just waiting for some more new signings then bring them in!
yep, we are ****e I bet West Spam cant believe they never won but we must build on the point if nothing else
to take 5 points off 3 derby's on the trot is good coming off 3 defeats, ok we got lucky today & about time.
With our goal difference, we're now two wins away from catching any team above us. We need to start winning 2-3 games on the trot starting now just to keep up with the rest, let alone go above them! That's a big ask......
I turned around yesterday and I was face to face with the main man TonyF walking to his seat, was so surprised I just shook his and said: Alright mate?
You're right 12thman. 'Arry's confirmed that counterattacking from a parked bus is his answer to our general lack of quality (same with Hughes last year). However, from what he's been saying after the game, with a pacy forward option, 'Arry was expecting us to play higher up the pitch and not to keep ourselves under so much pressure by giving the ball back to them as often as we did. The way we played second half wasn't part of the plan.
