    From BBC

    THE BIGGER PICTURE
Callum McManaman's winner against mid-table West Brom sees Wigan reignite their hopes of avoiding Premier League relegation.

The Latics came into the day knowing that they would remain in the bottom three regardless of their result at The Hawthorns. However, with three games left for them to play, they are now 35 points - only two points behind Sunderland in 17th. The Black Cats are next in action on Monday. Newcastle's 0-0 draw with West Ham means the Magpies are only three points in front of Wigan - and the Latics have a game in hand on them.

There were contrasting emotions in the match between relegation rivals Aston Villa and Norwich. Gabriel Agbonlahor's match-winning double for the Midlanders puts them onto the 40-point mark that usually secures safety, but it means the Canaries remain on 38 points.

At the other end of the table, Champions League chasing Tottenham face the distraction of a delayed kick off against Southampton. That game is currently 0-0 with approximately 30 minutes left, with that scoreline meaning Spurs face the prospect of dropping more points to fourth-placed Arsenal who play bottom-placed QPR at 1730 BST.

That's my worry too. You can just see them 'letting' Wigan win to see us down while they laugh (again).

We need you to show QPR your AV to distract them, so our boys win.

Southampton are one point ahead of us. Still have to go to Sunderland, Stoke can be ****y when backs to the wall. We have to cling to any hope now. If we win next week (which is vital) it matters then. We have to win next week.

Ah, sorry thought they had 40 already, but BBC site had added a point for them 'drawing' v Spurs - even though they are losing. <ok>

Wigan now have better GD thn us too. If they win their game in hand they go ahead of us.

Those defeats to SAFC & Liverpool may have completely swung it against us due to GD.

I don't think Southampton are in danger but if they are still in it they could do us a favour and beat Sunderland in a few weeks. Hopefully Stoke might pinch a point on monday as I'm sure Pullis will play a 4-6-0 formation from the off

Bottom line is though we looked a lot better at the back with Simpson and Colo back in there. Simpsons treatment has been poor. He's a very solid right back and should have had more games in place of Santon.

I don't really see us going down. Wigan have to play Swansea, okay, they might win, barely, then they play arsenal who are playing for the championsleague, Arsenal will roll them over. And then they play Aston Villa, unless Villa are 4 points ahead of Wigan by then they will do everything not to lose that game. IMO Wigan can get max 4 points out of the last 3 games. If we draw to Arsenal and QPR we ought to be alright. Drawing to Arsenal could be tough though. Let's not hope this comes down to GD in which case we might well be Fd unless Arsenal knock 4 past Wigan.

And Remember, Villa play Chelsea next. So that game against Wigan will mean the world to them.

It's absolutely crucial we do not lose to QPR, if we do, we probably indeed will be relegated.

If he brings Debuchy back in the team next week I'll be livid!

Never thought I'd say that about Debuchy <laugh> He'll be a good player once he acclimatises the the league, but for now we should go with tried and tester and Simpson played well today.

Villa will be safe and might happily roll over v Wigan.

Knowing our luck, Arsenal will lose to Wigan then dick us 6-0.
