Thought Carrick was outstanding today. Especially as he was playing out of position. I think he made our ball playing CB Ferdinand look like Tony Adams. Calmest man on the pitch.
Carrick will always look good against a team like west ham. They are slow and put absolutely no pressure on the ball. Shocking performance from the hammers who wer always known as a good footballing team. Now allardyce has turned them into a hoof ball team and not a good one at that. Compare them to liverpools midfield last week and you can see carricks limitations.
West Ham were ****e, no denying that, it was more a comment on the fact that Carrick pretty much didn't put a foot wrong, considering he is a midfielder and not a centre back. Just about every header, clearance, block etc went to a Utd player, deliberately. I don't think he misplaced one pass. As for the Liverpool game, Liverpool were far better than Utd ALL over the pitch. Carrick had no help in midfield. He is and has been Utd's best midfielder for a few years now. Unfortunately he can't do it on his own.
