Just about the strongest team possible for todays encounter with the team that took 5 points from us last season.

Should could be 3 up by now . but spammers dangerous on break.

Mind boggling how Luiz switched off every time.

Giroud or Haazard need to put those chances away or else this will be pain.

As for the game, i was honestly expecting to lose today...and we nearly did !!! If i was a hammers fan i would be seriously questioning how come their team has been bang average for the last few years and yet can always raise their game for the likes of ourselves and Spurs. When they played Spurs at the end of the season before last they were out of form and Spurs were on a 10 or 11 match winning run and they beat them and handed us the title more or less. Meanwhile back at the ranch, with a new manager with new ideas and formation, would we have taken 16 points from 18 ? Stupid question !!!

Pretty poor today, maybe tiredness, whatever low energy match.Hazard and Willian tried but were easily stopped, Dave looked off the pace. Same old problems against good defence, midfield has no power, strikers both hopeless. We need more inventive subs, same for same changes improve nothing.
Time to start identifying subs to improve performances for tougher matches to come. If Barkley and Cahill are seen as the answer, we are asking the wrong question.
Never looked like losing but couldn't find the way to win.

In a nutshell CP! Our two strikers ( excuse the pun) offer nothing by way of a threat which will cost us in the long run. Other than that I was pleased with Barkley’s contribution from the bench and Rudiger was immense as usual. 10 minutes into the second half I would have hauled Giroud off and replaced him with Pedro. Hazard looked more effective on the flank than in the centre.

We've had a few tight matches this year and inevitable we would drop points sooner or later.

The striker situation is of course a worry as it puts so much pressure on Hazard. Pellegrinni basically said as much, stop Hazard, stop Chelsea.

But 16 from 18 points is still a great start and this is always a tricky fixture for us.

Just think we are a rung below Liverpool and City at the moment.

Didn't watch the match but i'm guessing we were pretty narrow?

Its the one thing that normally happens when Willian and Hazard play together.

In a match like this maybe it's worth actually playing someone who can bundle past someone with some power (RLC maybe)?

Oh well still undefeated if somehow disappointing. I had a feeling west ham would do a job on us and sarri playing a really strong 11 away from home has sort of come back to bite us in the arse.

I'm hoping he doesn't play a strong 11 for the carling cup.

Unfortunately, most of the Chelsea regulars were driven away by one or two retards about 3 years ago.
Glad to say those people have since been removed from the site, but the damage was done :(

Agree with you CP. Midfield can lack power.

Kante has some power but the obvious sub would have been adding our super power RLC, but think he is injured?

RLC really needs a run of games, even as a sub for 30 mins, to try and show what he can do in a line up of players of the quality we have. On paper, he has the strength and skill to play a strong role, on the pitch we just don't know, but we need to know. Even so, we should be looking for a proven monster for the future, or another Modric type. Not easy for sure, but we have to find someone to open up defences, cause we are not doing it properly right now and have yet to play a really top team.

    Wow agreeing
Good luck finding another Modric. Jorginho and Kovacic are pretty amazing at opening up defences with brilliant passes. We are very lucky to have them

Loftus cheek can’t get a run of game because he is injured, he should be back next week.

Annoying the Odoi got injured when he was playing well

still need to watch MOTD but i wasn't very positive about the match after finding out about who Sarri played midweek and our plane delay.

Must say i was disappointed with the result though
