That game had everything....a Gabbi goal and Tadic penalty and is (in my view) the only game where we had any luck at all.
Looking forwards to this game. It’s juicy one, spam are possibly in a worse place than we are amd if Hughes has had enough time to work our squad through some positive changes we are more likely to win than lose. If I’m wrong, well Leeds away will be good.
Its interesting to follow the posters that criticise individual players.........Sadly in my view it would seem they have never played a very high standard of Football. They are of course fully entitled to criticise as they see it............but in that criticism they complain that a player looks up and seems to be in a quandary as what to do with the ball next. It could perhaps be the player is trying hold the ball so as another player can get into position?? You should give them credit for actually looking up at all!! The last two managers we have had were not very attack minded, it seems to me that players were often too deep in their own half, so often the only option is to pass back or side ways. Posession football is ok but it tends to give the opposition time to regroup and this is the time when pacy players should come into their own. However the midfielders and forward players have got to create the gaps which of late Saints rarely do.........Hopefully with Sparky in charge he will see this and sort it. Just another opinion for what its worth..........
Hughes talking on Sky about the Great Escape....says what he remembers is how everyone stuck together. I know the away fans have always tried, but time for home fans (in the few home games we have left) to reserve judgement. If a player makes a mistake there is no need to draw attention to it....he can't correct it on a replay....and will have noticed it for himself.....time to encourage.
Now that he's managing us full time, he hasn't had time to pop to the shops for more Grecian 2000 (Other colouring agents/wonder cures/vanity essentials are probably available. Me? I wear a hat)
I see us, the taxpayer, are paying £60,000 for extra security for the game. Having already paid for the stadium, I just want to keep on giving. I don't care about the nhs, pot holes, national security, industry, education etc, I only want to pay for west ham. Please go to my justgiving page to help other worthwhile causes such as Andy Carroll stylist. (Shouldn't cost much), dog training course for Mark noble, a big lottery type machine where they can put names of overpriced past it players to draw out there next signing, a special shell type home for that slug Gold - endless causes, please give generously.
https://www.footballfancast.com/pre...hampton-different-approaches-the-same-outcome Interesting article comparing how West Ham and Southampton have reached the point where winning this game is so important for both teams. At the end suggests that the reason so many mid-table teams have become involved in fighting relegation is due to the dominance of a few clubs....and this will probably continue with few clubs becoming safe early in campaigns. Shows how important it is to beat the other also ran teams and regard victories against the top 6 as a bonus. .
