JB got an increase in salary due to playing so many matches.
    So on more than 45k.
How many more games does he have to play for city for the next increase to take effect?

Ah, whoops. Substitue Norwich for Swansea and Swansea for a play-off victory and the point still stands. Though I still look like a twat.

Nolan cost £4m and is getting £45k a week for five years, according to the Telegraph.

£15.7m in total, ffs, pretty much the same as Jimmy's cost us.

Although Nolan will play 46 games a season and score 15 goals.

It smacks more of desperation than ambition to me, and that's really risky. I thought this whole being in debt thing and spending beyond your means was being stopped?

Either way I can see them doing a TWS, possibly even worse because this is a gamble they literally have to win, if they lose, I think it's game over for them.

I don't see why Newcastle didnt give Nolan a new contract, he was a pretty important player for them and they aren't going to get a similarly good player for less than 4 mill.

He wanted a 5 year contract at the Toon and at 29 it was a risk especially with todays financial climate.

    Quality player though.

They've already signed Cabaye though. N'Zogbia and Ba look to be joining. It's not all bad for them.

If you head over to their board they dont see it like that they are fuming. They are fed up with fat Mike selling all their players and spunking it in the Casino. They hate the fact he sacked Chris H as well, everything fat Mike has done in the North East has turned to ****.

Newcastle are being run sensibly these days. It's Ashley's model, buy low, sell high. He's getting a fair price for Nolan and getting a replacement in for far less per week.

It's like the Andy Carroll money. Newcastle are prepared to spend it but are insisting that it covers wages aswell as transfer fees, very sensible. As a result, Check Tiote's new contract came out of the Carroll money.

That's laughable. Ashley has spunked over a hundred million on Newcastle and all he's done is try to make it fiscally sound. He's got them back into the PL and they've finished in a good position. Some people are never happy.
