Somerset with 3 first innings wickets already down trail Durham by 226 runs at the end of Day 1 in Chester le Street
    Somerset 30 for 3 (Rushworth 2-20) - Durham 256 (Jennings 116, Gregory 4-58)

Jennings fine century has given Durham the edge as Somerset lost 3 wickets at the end of the day - much will depend on the unbeaten pair of Rodgers and Hildreth in the morning. I suspect that will be the tone of the season

Durham with 6 2nd innings wickets left lead Somerset by 300 runs at the end of Day 2
    Durham 256 (Jennings 116, Gregory 4-58) and 223 for 4 (Jennings 105*) - Somerset 179 (Trego 45, Onions 4-62)

Keaton Jennings became the third Durham batsman after Dean Jones and Paul Collingwood to score two hundreds in a first-class match.

Rain was the winner at Chester-Le-Street as not a ball was bowled between Durham and Somerset on Day 3

Cameron Bancroft's first experience of county cricket proved to be a galling one after he was penalised under the ECB's discipline code for dissent on his Gloucestershire debut.
Bancroft showed his displeasure after he was adjudged caught at the wicket off Essex's pace bowler Jamie Porter for a third-ball duck - his second single-figure score of the match while opening the batting in Gloucestershire's opening Specsavers Championship match.
He was reported by umpires Michael Gough and Jeff Evans for a Level One breach of the code (showing dissent at an umpire's decision by word or action).
Although Bancroft escaped with a reprimand, the penalty remains on his record for a period of two years and the accumulation of nine or more penalty points in any two year period will result in an automatic suspension.

Chesney Hughes fell four short of a hundred as Derbyshire posted 242 for three against some accurate Gloucestershire bowling on the opening day of the Specsavers County Championship match in Bristol.
    Derbyshire 242 for 3 (Hughes 96, Madsen 58*)

Gloucestershire were unable to force a victory on a docile Brightside Ground pitch as the first home Championship match of the season ended in a draw against Derbyshire.
    Gloucestershire 563 (Dent 180, Norwell 102, Marshall 72, Noema-Barnett 58) - Derbyshire 444 (Madsen 150, Hughes 96, Norwell 4-104) & 260-2 (Hughes 137*, Rutherford 78)

Gloucestershire have signed South African-born all-rounder Graeme Van Buuren on a two-year deal.
The 25-year-old, who played for the Pretoria-based Titans, joins the club after making 170 in a 2nd XI game against Glamorgan last season.
A right-handed middle-order batsman and left-arm spinner, he qualifies as a non-overseas player through his wife Hannah, a British passport holder.

Worcestershire drew with Gloucestershire at Bristol
    Worcestershire 411 (Clarke 135, Moeen 74, Cox 69) and 210 for 4 (Moeen 136*) - Gloucestershire 380 (Marshall 135, Noema-Barnett 84, Dent 59, Shantry 4-89) and 382 for 7 dec (Dent 138*, Taylor 105, Cockbain 67)

Moeen Ali struck an unbeaten century to guide Worcestershire to a draw on the final day of their County Championship match with Gloucestershire in Bristol. The England all-rounder came to the rescue with his side in trouble at 49 for 3, chasing an unlikely 352 to win in 63 overs, hitting a fluent 136 from 144 balls in a quality knock that featured just one chance.
Earlier, Jack Taylor had lashed 13 fours and two sixes in an explosive 105, his second fifty coming off just 27 balls, to help Gloucestershire from a perilous 217 for 6 overnight to 382 for 7 declared. Chris Dent was unbeaten on 138, having shared a seventh-wicket stand of 162 with Taylor. It was Dent's second hundred of the season and took his run tally in five Championship innings to 402 at an average of 101.75.

Somerset drew with Surrey at the Oval
    Somerset 353 (Trescothick 127, Rampaul 5-85) and 122 for 4 (Ansari 4-43) - Surrey 463 (Sangakkara 171, Roy 85, Burns 80, Ansari 53, Groenewald 5-94) and 181 for 8 dec (Sangakkara 71, Gregory 3-24)

Both Surrey and Somerset played some impressive cricket even if it was to no avail. Had rain, snow, sleet and avian intervention not taken time out of this game, both teams would have been able to state their cases for a win.

Somerset drew with Yorkshire at Taunton
    Somerset 562 for 7 dec (Hildreth 166, Trescothick 97, Trego 94, Rogers 51, Allenby 51, Rashid 4-160) - Yorkshire 311 (Lyth 106) and 141 for 6

Good effort this from Somerset who put Yorkshire under pressure - ultimately the lost overs due to weather cost them

Somerset drew with Middlesex at Lords
    Somerset 376 (Rogers 109, Hildreth 68, Trego 65, Murtagh 5-53) and 202 for 7 (Hildreth 85*, Trego 58, Rayner 4-56) - Middlesex 423 (Gubbins 109, Robson 99, Stirling 85, Leach 5-77)

They don't lose games, but they don't win them either
I don't think the bowling attack is strong enough to take 20 wickets consistently
Rogers was a good signing, but maybe should have gone for a bowler??

    Somerset 102 (Batty 7-32) and 301 for 9 (Trescothick 56, Allenby 56, Meaker 4-79) - Surrey 264 (Leach 4-34) and 138 (Leach 4-63, J Overton 4-18)

Jack Leach and Tim Groenwald put on 31 for the last wicket to give Somerset an unlikely victory.

Gloucestershire beat Worcestershire by five wickets at New Road
    Gloucestershire 364 for 6 dec (van Buuren 172*, Miles 60*, Roderick 60) and 320 for 5 (Taylor 107*, Klinger 102*) - Worcestershire 439 (Kohler-Cadmore 169, Shantry 106, Cox 75, Barnard 50) and 239 (Whiteley 71, Mitchell 55, Miles 5-54)

Gloucestershire's enterprising approach was rewarded on the final afternoon as century-makers Michael Klinger and Jack Taylor powered them to a five-wicket win over Worcestershire in the County Championship clash at New Road.
