Rondon had plenty of time to compose himself for that volley, because no defender was putting pressure on him. If you want to apportion blame, that is. But sometimes you just have to take your hat off to the guy who scores.

Yeah, it's a bit like watching some of Le Tissier's goals and thinking "well, the keeper could have done better there" (the one I always believed that of was the free kick towards the end of a game against Villa. It was from about six miles out, and I still think the keeper should have saved it, but I'd far rather rejoice in the strike!)

It was a great goal, yes. But majorly helped by the keeper not being in position.

I’m not knocking McCarthy either, just an observation.

Had FF been in goal, he have been moaned at more in my opinion, not that I want him back in goal, btw.

Had FF been in goal Rondon wouldn't have shot as they would have been 4-2 up by then and not chasing the game.

Looking at it again, he clearly never thought he was going to hit it frist time and so was only 'meandering' across the goal
If he'd anticipated a bit better it would have been straight at him
Saying that Jack didn't help much did he?
Bit of a learning point for both of them

Reminds me of relegation season and the amount of out of form strikers who hit 90minute super-goals and nicked points off us

FF would have been slaughtered for that.
