a point away from home is good, but the way we played second half was poor and we should have had more killer instinct

    SLOPPY!

I would take a point before the game, but disappointed by this.

We played it pretty much perfectly in the first half, although West Brom were poor.
A good taken goal and things were looking good. We do however seem to get sloppy as soon as we take the lead or have been playing good in the first half (keeping Swansea and Stoke in mind). That equaliser was always coming, although it came later than I thought. I think we were awful with the ball and Figueroa is doing my head in at times with his ball handling. I wasn't impressed by Huddlestone either and I am not sure if Graham touched the ball in the second half. It's easy to say now, but I think that some subs should have been made earlier.

+ to Sagbo, Davies and Livermore.

They scored with their only real chance and we probably should have doubled the lead before that. Looked like a really soft free kick that started that move too. They seemed to get loads of soft free kicks, every time we got the ball back second half it was a free kick for something or other.

Unfortunately I agree with you dem_on. Technically he isn't even Championship standard and his passing is woeful.
If you specifically watch him throughout the game he is the main player who messes up most of our passing play and our attacks.

On the plus side though he's one of the few who doesn't mind mixing it in the opposition penalty area, but that alone isn't justification for the damage he causes.
If I was Bruce I would give him a ball on Monday and tell him to play keepy-uppy all week until he learns a bit of basic ball control.

Ref could quite easily have given a foul against Huddlestone in the build up to our goal. I'm disappointed not to win but I thought it was a fair result.

The ref got that spot on according to the slow motion replay. Thudd didn't touch him, he just stood on the ball and fell over.

Good point but dissappointed in not getting the 3. In the second half we gave the ball away far too cheaply. We could not string 2 passes together. What gives with that. Seems to indicate that we need more skill in midfield. Even Huddstone was not his usual self in the second half. Playing Swansea in the second half we held the ball for long periods and passed really well. Same result though.

Really? I think Meyler has been immense, certainly against Liverpool at home in scoring the goal and retaining the ball. Every player can have an off day. I would be very surprised if Meyler hasn't been one of the first names on the team sheet in recent weeks.

Hull need to sign a creative RW/LW with pace and skills more than a striker imo

3-5-2 gets found out as it lets teams push onto you, as you have 3 men at the back. Bruce drop deeper than the other two, he doesnt bring the ball out and draw a man when we do have the ball. How many times did we knock it in midfield then end up passing it back for one of the 3 CB's to just launch it.
This allows them to pressure Hudd more, he mis controlled it quite a few times today, he's hardly done that all season.

We look solid but if i was a neutral any team plays like we did and i would hope they get beat. WBA scored as we just didnt do enough second half. you cant sit back for nearly a full half, offering nothing apart form Hudds shot and Elmo's follow up.

If we were playing a top 4 side its understandable but this was WBA. At the end of the season it may be a point gained or 2 points we could have taken with a bit more adventure. Because we are just a better team than they are.

But you could just as easily say that 4-4-2 would leave us exposed in the middle with a central 2 against the 3 that most teams play now. Every formation can be argued that it has it's flaws somewhere but at City people only say it about 3-5-2. Makes no sense to me. Just because a back 4 is more common doesn't mean it's any better. Bruce obviously thinks this is the best system for us and certainly without Aluko we look a lot better in this system.

As for the way we play, I agree but I don't think we deliberately play on the back foot we just struggle to control games. In this league it's hard, even the top teams can't do it all the time. Liverpool hardly kept the ball against us at all and they're top.
