54 minutes gone and west brom finally have an attempt on goal...no wonder they ain't scored for so long
Giroud has held the ball up magnificently, allowing us to get forwards to the edge of the West Brom box quickly. Plus he's putting so much pressure on the 2 CBs, allowing Alexis and Welbeck much more time and space in which to operate without being picked up.
west brom only won 5 out of their last 25 matches at home? god that makes the lane look like a fortress for us
Great to see Cazorla back in form. Top quality and showing in his play today. Le Big Unit doing a smashing job holding up the ball.
This game and Dortmund in midweek make me think... Our squad makes a lot more sense if we play like a counter attacking side. I think we start too far up the pitch.
One problem when we play high up is our lack of pace at the back. What they do to counter this is drop very deep when we lose the ball. Of course, for that to work we'd need the midfield to be far deeper than it usually is as well. This just leaves massive gaps in the middle of the park for the opponent to exploit. And good teams do, and with regularity.
Well we have the players to skin many teams on the counter. With pace from Sanchez, OXO, Walcott and Welbeck. Should be used more by Arsene.
I'm thoroughly enjoying David Pleat's constant butchering of Victor Anichebe's surname. He's said Victor Anchovy atleast twice.
All this time wasting can come back to bite us on the ass, wouldn't be surprised to see the 4th official put up 5 minutes.
So much nervier than it should've been but an important three points and a clean sheet with a rookie goalkeeper!
Played pretty well. Wellbeck did soo much more than Giroud though. I can't help but think he's the better option. Carzorla had a good game and was good to have Koscielney back.
