Did help in the buildup for the goal but he needs to sharpen up. That being said the lack of a proper winger didn't help but he still should do better. The Myhill chance where he tried to round him was just good keeping but he could have done better on that one he took first time.
I thought his first touch was poor although it was a difficult ball to control dropping over the shoulder. I can forgive him to a certain extent given that we had no natural wingers. That really hurt us today.
Just got back from the game, overall a good point at a tough ground against a tough team on confidence while we played poorly...And wow, what a **** of a referee is this Mason.
And Mason was almost as bad as that Villa ref ****. Fair play the replays made it look like he got the pen right but ****ing hell he was ****
I saw them there, I'm in one of them today, not giving an interview, just walking by, :-D. And guess what? I was sat right behind blondie today, what a small world.
As mentioned elsewhere, Mason seemed intent on not giving any free-kicks today. Looked like a some sort of pre-match plan on his part, problem is he missed some pretty clear fouls.
Also did not give a foul when Chensey was clearly pushed in that WBA corner, that was a truly terrible decision.
Yeah. Especially in the first half against Wilshere. He had a poor first 45 but still should have gotten so many FKs from fouls. Fair play to him for not letting that get to him. While he may not be playing his best that shows a winning mentality.
Some of them were fouls, but I do agree that Wilshere is going down too easily these days and in every game, he seems to always be on the floor in a heap. Needs to try and learn how to avoid those contacts like Cazorla and Ozil do.
Yeah. That comes with experience. If he works and learns from them I'm sure he'll eventually learn to avoid those run stopping tackles.
At the moment, every time he picks it up, he just seems to be running into two or three players. Last season, when he hit that bit of form after the Swansea game in the Cup, he was gliding past people with such ease, but at the moment everything seems like hard work for him.
Does it matter if he gets the ball, if he takes out the player in the process? I seem to remember Koscielny being penalised against Villa for a tackle almost identical. Unreal.
i agree with this. i thought it was a clear penalty because the defender took the player first. It was a far more clear penalty than the ones koscielny gave away against Villa and Sunderland.
