Well, on the plus side bendys shown himself to be an adequate back up until at least January, obviously he dropped off massively towards the end, but not surprising really, poor sod. He's lungs are probably going like bellows atm. Fair play to miyaichi for never letting his head drop, but definitely a back up, could be a good squad player going ahead but I didn't really see any signs of a spark. Gnarby seems like a slightly worse version of chamberlain, which isn't too bad, hell be inconsistent throughout the season and highlights the importance of Walcott. Good to see arteta back and spraying the ball around as well
Yes because Chavski have looked so strong this season Been such a great attacking team and have really just blown out the majority of their opponents Chavski is winnable.
Definitely need somebody who can give us a creative spark against the chavs, but don't forget that they'll probably play a second string team too.
I thought Bendy wasn't too bad. He got some nice flick-ons. Gnabry, Ryo, and Eisfeld were all much worse apart from the goal. Eisfeld reminds me of Ramsey a bit. Should do alright as long as we never play him against Stoke.
What was also good about our win tonight, is that there were a few spuds lurking on this thread no doubt hoping we'd lose on pens. So there's some entertainment seeing them slope off after Nacho put us through
I thought Ryo had a decent game, he worked hard, got into good positions, made great runs, some good passes (and a pass to an invisible arsenal player - i'll give you that ) but he didn't have the end product today. It reminded me of a young Walcott performance. I think he will end up a useful player.
Both teams will likely be a mix of first and second team players i'd imagine. Half strength teams. And yes Mata will probably play. I'm sure it'll be a good game and hopefully we get through.
One thing i will commend Bendtner on tonight is that (on top of the assist for the goal) he stepped up first to take a penalty. The man always has confidence and i think that it's good for the young players to have some of the older guys step up.
By the Chavski game we should have: Rosicky, Arteta/Flam, Verm, Jack, Santi, Pod (if rumors are true) in contention.
I'm willing to stake a lot of money that they smash us. Wenger will play the kids, don't fool yourself into thinking he's changed, he hasn't, we'll play the kids and we'll be humiliated.
Seriously Hank, do you not get it? We may have those players available, but the starting 11 will resemble the one used today. It's Wenger, and he's nothing if not predictable.
Go and put a massive bet on it then, scan in the betting slip, post it up for us and when you win loads of money we can all stfu and admit you where right
I seem to recall against Bradford City when we should have played the kids we used a near full strength XI so what in your littler brain do you think Wenger will use the kids against Chavski in a period where most of our players should be returning.
Oooh, Hank, poor wording, yet again proving my point about Americans. Wenger played a strong side to try and quieten the discontent that was growing, now everyone seems to love him again, he won't do it.
