I'm hoping we can play somewhere near to how good we were in the first half against west ham, if we do we should be too good for them, I expect a lot more emphasis on being solid at the back though so with that in mind I'll predict a scrappy 2 - 1 win for the lads.
Id be delighted if those players are missing from West Broms starting 11. With Lens and Toivonen missing I think Big Sam might go a little more defensive with a 4-1-4-1. Mvila pulling the strings, plenty of protection and graft in the middle of the park. Get plenty of balls into the box for Zlatan, sorry Fletcher ------------Pantilimon--------- Yedlin---Oshea---Kaboul---Jones --------------Mvila--------------- Larsson--Catts---Rodwell--Borini -------------Fletcher-------------
lineup Pantilimon, Jones, Yedlin, Kaboul, O’Shea (c), Larsson, Cattermole, Gomez, M’Vila, Borini, Fletcher. nicked from FB
Team news from The Hawthorns. Sam Allardyce has made three changes to the team ahead of this afternoon’s game with West Bromwich Albion. Seb Larsson makes his first Barclays Premier League start since August, whilst Younes Kaboul and Jordi Gomez also start at The Hawthorns. Jeremain Lens and Sebastian Coates miss out on today’s game due to suspensions, while Ola Toivonen also misses out. Sunderland: Pantilimon, Jones, Yedlin, Kaboul, O’Shea (c), Larsson, Cattermole, Gomez, M’Vila, Borini, Fletcher. Subs: Mannone, Graham, Defoe, Johnson, Brown, Bridcutt, van Aanholt
TBH i didnt even notice him missing , he is starting to go down imo as one of our worst premier league signings
Thats the head scratcher innit, yedlin, defoe and PVA that team is molasses. Can only think he hasnt had much time to evaluate the players and going with what he knows...?
