What a f*cking painful season this has been. Probably the worst since promotion. At least with Pellegrino we were just plain **** and therefore we built up no expectations. With Ralph though we know we can be good, and that makes it worse. What do they do in training all week that makes them so tired looking by match day?
It’s all ok. We lost 3-0 to Sunderland in the last league game before the semi in 76. JWP missing the pen has sealed it. Our name is on that cup
How well WBA played does not excuse Saints performance. From start to finish it has been abysmal. Low energy, bad passes, no shape, basics done badly, missed penalty etc Play like this against Leicester it will be a massive score against us
Hey, look. Football is very weird, and we might be really good next week. It hurts, but massive credit to the Baggies and Sam today. They’ve been fantastic, and their attitude, in direct contrast to ours, has been brilliant.
I don't think anyone really gave a **** about this game. Apart from Ralph. I don't really care we lost 3-0. We came through it unscathed. That's all that matters.
This is one area where I believe that Ralph does merit a bit of mild criticism. We've been more or less safe for some time now, so yeah: he likely should have started the kids at some point in that slide, to demonstrate that no one has a spot in the lineup by divine right. Can't send the message for a semi, but perhaps should have sent it for a game against Brighton or what have you.
Oh behave the players had their eyes on Sunday and West Brom are fighting for their PL lives. This result was predictable. The players will turn up on Sunday.
Well the less said about the match the better. Congratulations to West Brom, far more positive than I expected. We struggled with their press similar to early on against Burnley. Hopefully our players were just distracted by the semi final. I don't understand our substitutions though or their lateness.
Ironically we've been let down by some of our season's stand out performers - Forster, Vesty, Ings and JWP. He won't drop them all. At the end of the day, whilst he was right to issue the warning it is inevitable players will already be pumped up for Sundays semi. I don't actually think he will change too much for Sunday - maybe Adams for Walcott and move Redders back into the 10 position. Forget about form. Sunday is a one off. We are more than capable of winning. It is the only thing that we've done well this season. They want it like West Brom wanted it tonight.
