Can we go back to 4-4-2 it are we playing it? I've literally just got home! I am a fan of 4-3-3, but the players have to be comfortable with the players around them. Would quite like to see Hooiveld play instead if Yoshida as he isn't particularly...strong. Forwards must look at out defence and already are thinking of what celebration to do...
I notice how Fox seems to often deal with 2 men well enough for Lallana to get back. Then Lallana always lets the player cut inside and shoot or pass......
Morgan needs to get stuck in more. Has been ****e in this game. Pathetic defending on the goal. It's not just the goal either it's happened a few other times where he could easily have blocked the ball when the man has cut inside Lallana he's just stood like a spectator
I would say that that was our worst midfield performance over an entire half for quite some time. But actually, was it any worse than the first 45 minutes against Spurs? The defence might not be great, but christ the midfield are dropping them in it today. All four of them.
Agree with this - we have the wrong player on the right wing FFS! Ramirez is supposed to be our star play-maker - yet he is playing out of position - not the first Saints player that has happened to this season!
I think we've been decent but just undermined by a few key issues and then a bit of **** luck for their goal. Not great, though.
I was just about to pick up on that, it is 4-4-2 and we look well understaffed in the centre of the pitch. I'll be pissed if both Lambert and J-rod come out 2nd half.
I really don't think that we have been that bad, bit blunt going forward but apart from Fox and Clyne getting caught out wide and the goal we haven't been that bad in defense.
They get caught because it's our play-style..this isn't bad defending or positioning. If we want to get the full backs forward this is something we are going to have to cope with
