Morning all. I've resisted posting much since Tuesday as I was so angry with 1. a particular moronic poster on here 2. the players for letting the club down at Leeds and 3. Me for letting it all wind me up!
Anyway time to move on. Monday night's match is huge IMO . The club badly needs a lift and if we can come away with something then we can begin to regain some self belief. We haven't become a bad side we have just made too many individual errors and that includes Nigel. What better way to get back on track than by putting on a good show in front of a TV audience. Time to show what we are all made of!
West Brom have won none of the last seven league meetings with Southampton, though five of those have ended as draws.
Saints have won none of their last six league games at the Hawthorns, scoring just two goals in those games, though four of the matches have been draws.
West Bromâs substitutes have provided five assists this season, more than any other clubâs replacements.
The Baggies have lost their last two Premier League games to goals scored in the 90th minute, only the fourth time this has happened within eight days in Premier League history.
Southamptonâs total of 26 goals conceded in their first nine matches is the worst ever defensive performance at this stage of a Premier League season and equates to 110 goals conceded over the season, 10 more than the divisional record (Swindon 1993-94)
Chris Brunt has the highest rate of crosses per 90 mins this season (10.9 per 90 mins).
Southampton have thrown away more points from winning positions than any other Premier League team this season, 11.
The Saints are the only team to have trailed in all of their Premier League games this season.
Shane Long has scored the opening goal in three games this season, only Sunderlandâs Steven Fletcher (4) has done so more often.
WBA have lost their only two previous Premier League games on November 5, without scoring a single goal.
Southamptonâs only previous Premier League game on November 5 was an entertaining 3-3 draw with Manchester City in 1994.
I'd settle for that on Monday night!
So what do we all think? Assume it's too early for Gaston so presume it will be pretty much te side that played Spurs.
