I don't like being too negative, but there were too many basic errors for their goals. I don't blame Hill, he does all that he can, but he shouldn't be LB, so it's no suprise when someone gets past him. The player most at fault for the first 2 i feel was Ferdinand. No awareness of the players around him for the first and should have done better with the clearance for the 2nd. Would need to see the 3rd again, but once again someone failed to mark. Mbia did not look comfortable and i was glad when he went off. SWP i don't feel offers us enough to justify his inclusion. His main asset was his pace and ability to get past a player, but everytime he gets the ball you can just see the lack of confidence, and his only move is the shoulder drop. On the plus side Taarabt is getting better, and it was a fantastic goal. Granero also took his very well. Nelson was by far our best player at the back, and i always have confidence that he'll give his all. A much better performance in the 2nd half, but we need to start performing for the whole game. It's going to be a long 2 weeks for everyone. I feel we can get something against Arsenal, as we seem to perform better against the top teams. Still think we have to stick with Hughes and he should be given at least the next 3 games to turn things around.
P*ssed off at yet another poor result but encouraged by the fact that one win will still pull us out of the drop zone. We MUST get our defence back in the next two weeks and the gelling process has to end. We have to get our **** together against Everton. No more lame duck excuses.
We have to stick with Hughes. Although I find his SWP fixation puzzling I thought the tactics against Citeh, Scum and Spuds were spot on so he's not entirely clueless. Obvious defensive frailties are costing us at the moment but give us a break we've got our 3rd choice CB playing at LB at the moment.
West ham - same silly defensive errors so same argument Man city- did really well but probably the expected result Spurs - same as man city Chelsea - top result and could have got the win Norwich- decent point playing poorly Swansea - shocker, no defence to it.
Swansea, 2 -0 down at half time. Hughes did **** all until it was too late. Norwich, piss poor against a team that we should have turned over easily with our squad Chelsea, agree. Spuds, 1-0 up AVB changed his tactics and shape Hughes didn't.......again! Man City as above. Wet Sham as above.
Excuses......excuses............Jesus Christ, look at the league table. A couple more (very difficult) games and we will be a quarter of the way through the season. For just how long do we keep on saying we're unlucky or it will come?
Good shout but would have meant Onouha at right back and he was slaughtered against Hammers. However I'd agree lesser of 2 evils v Hill!
We urgently need a striker and a decent defence - and a good coach as well. Even though we had most of the ball second half I never felt we would score. I guess the squad is good enough to stay in the PL but I did have a little more expectations several weeks ago.
I don't think he was slaughtered against Hammers. He's terrible on the ball and not first choice as a full back, but I think he's a decent enough defender and he is quite quick, which helps a lot in this league. Ask Clint!
I think it's too early to take much notice of the league table, but for those who don't, we've played 5 of the top 8
Unfortunately playing us has helped them get in the top 8. Not convinced West Brom or Ham will be there at end of the season, not Reading, Norwich, or Swansea
A big reason why they are there is most of them have taken the 3 points off us. I suspect their positions dont look to great if you take the points away that they took off us.
