Certainly at times, yes, though West Brom still marginally had the better of that time. The heads seem to drop when falling behind
That starting eleven looked incredibly young, and the players on the bench weren’t an awful lot older
It was the youngest starting 11 this century (ie. 23 years) according to my commentary. This shows the difference without the experience of players like McLean, Hanley and Gibson. Byram added some experience to the defence and Sørensen looked far more comfortable at DM. We missed Hernandez's hard work and threat down the left - Tzolis is improving, but he's not there yet. Sargent did well up front with what little he had to work with.
With McLean and Hanley in the side we are nowhere near a Premier League club either, as two abject top flight seasons testify. Until we accept that they are part of the problem, we'll continue to be a second-level club. None of the top six sides in the Championship this year, let alone an EPL club, would have either Hanley or McLean in their starting eleven.
Robbie, you're priceless. You are so quick to criticise those of us who make unsubstantiated statements and then you come out with stuff like this. Survey the clubs involved, did you? Send them a questionnaire? Don't get me wrong - I have no problem with posters saying things which are simply opinion. We all do it. That's why this forum exists. But there is one rule for you, Robbie, and another rule for the rest of us.
Depressing - but brutally honest column by Gary Gowers. Read it and weep! https://norwichcity.myfootballwrite...urn-with-david-wagner-too-failing-to-deliver/
It's ridiculous that Webber will not be sacked because he has the support of the board, one of which is his bloody wife both drawing a sizeable salary from our club . Zimbabwe level incompetence & nepotism
If you'd said "as we commence the process of rebuilding towards getting there", I might agree with you, Suffolk.
You know that, when our resident WUM resorts to semantics, that he has lost he argument..... comme d'habitude.
Having read through Gary's column the views expressed are similar to those on here. At the end of last season the football being played was bland and unimaginative. With Wagner, I can see the tactical planning, even if the players don't always achieve it on the pitch. For me, the fall off in the last 10 games is down to the players missing, the makeshift defence and the loss of confidence. Wagner deserves a chance to bring in the players he needs to make his tactics work and that will be the key to this summer remake.
For me apathy has set in , if Max Sara & anyone else with any resale value wants out I can't blame them . Nobody has come out of this season with any credit . The toxic relationship caused by Webber & the press & Webber & the fans can't be corrected he's too arrogant especially as his wife is on the board & of course will not act. If after 2 Premier promotions & parachute payments we have spanked it all & if the club comes cap in hand wanting donations towards the academy again they can go whistle. The academy is fantastic but the only local home grown player to come through was Todd which isn't great . None of the class of 2022/23 are good enough to be integrated into the first team. We bought Gibbs Aarons & Mumba
Yes but that's how most academy's work we poach from other teams, they poach from us, we develop who we can and then they get into our team/ are sold. It's the modern way of developing players.
I can't see any of the current crop being worth anything. We made money on Murphys , Godfrey & Maddison, Aarons will make us a few quid but Omobamidele has disappointed this season yet awarded the captaincy, Idah given a 5 year deal seems bonkers & i doubt anyone wants him . We made a big mistake letting Morris go for peanuts. Gibbs I guess has done ok
