Agree about resting Sissoko and Santon in midfield and Haidara LB.
I don't see Pards starting with Benni he's still not a team player.

Honestly, i dont want to see cisse anywhere near the starting line-up as I dont see him improving. Defenders sussed him out after that half a season and he hasnt been able to adapt to that since. Handy as a 60-minute sub though. Honestly, i'd stick ben arfa up there then his reluctance to track back (though he has been improving) will be much less of an issue.

Shola in for Anita is the only change. Disappointing from Pardew.

I'd have gone with Cisse instead of Shola and Ben Arfa for Gouffran. After the Arsenal game Pardew said we looked tired so why only make one change??? Makes no sense to me.

We don't rest anyone because Pardew knows that playing the same-ish 11 every week will allow them to develop their own autonomous attacking patterns, i.e. he doesn't have to coach a coherent plan to all (scratch that - ANY) of the players, god forbid.

I cannot wait until he leaves this football club.

It's bad form to drop Anita.
    Looks more 4-4-2.

Arsenal was the game to make changes. We didn't and missed a trick. Now we find ourselves in a tricky situ with an away game which has taken on extra importance in trying to keep pace with those above. So you need your strongest team. However your strongest team is now paggered. 3 or 4 changes for Arsenal was the key. They didn't make many and some freshness might have worked.

Frustrated now as we are not learning as a coaching staff the importance of fresh legs and using your squad. I accept the depth is an issue in terms of quality, but that is why you must select the games carefully. Arsenal was ideal because we were at home, against a side not fresh themselves but one which could beat you whoever you put out (as we found out).

I'd still have changed things today even if I believed it was the wrong game. West Brom have made 6 or 7 changes in each of their last two games and I fear a fast start and chasing the game from an impossible position. I hope I'm wrong.

Have to agree. I too feel that we might not get the start to the new year that we're all hoping for.
