From recent experience Rodgers would not have you playing EL football for long<ok>

To make things worse Villa are drawing with City atm. Typical Liverpool.

He's inexperienced in Europe and having to adapt to not having a week to train for 1 game instead only having 2 or 3 days between each. More experience would improve that hence getting in the CL will only help him and the players in adapting.

In a weird way, I'm glad. Because today's result would've been even worse had City not beaten Villa.

This is not what I meant...<doh>

Of course we should do everything we can to get to CL. In fact I wouldn't give up just yet. City are 2nd but Man U could still lose matches like they did last week. Who knows?

But I am not sure about the Europa if our objective next season is to get top 4 <ok>

Out objective should never be to get top 4. Our objective should be to win the league and all the cups we are in.

Ill say again, why aim for top 4 if you class extra European games as hassle?

Because extra Europa matches NOT = extra CL matches.

Even relegation candidates like Everton can get to the EL knockout stage so our younger/reserve players should be able to get us there

If done properly it gives them gametime with minimal impact on the main team

Your first team couldn't grab the secon chance of EL football, crashing out as with the CL at the earliest point

    They're playing the #bitters next <doh>

Even if Man Utd scored a last minute own goal the Everton fans would invade the pitch and force it to be abandoned

They went out and half arsed it v City last season because that's what the fans wanted<ok> You only gotta look at the goals they conceded, only started playing at 3 0 down.

I was only joking with Astro, a little dig at the 3-3 last season when he certainly didn't stick everyone behind the ball. I don't particularly like his brand of football tbh.

It was only 3 3 because we lost to Chelsea the game before<ok>

3 up, but we were a fair bit behind City in GD.

Had we not needed goals desperately, it was game over for them.

Extra EL = chance to win = CL spot.

Just bcos you're chasing goals doesn't automatically mean you'll concede though? Aren't you waxing lyrical about Bayern doing just that with a 6-1 win on another thread <whistle> Btw it still shows that Pulis had some attacking sense during the game.

  18. Quite the impressive stat that. Especially when you consider Studge has been on the losing side at least a couple of times this season during his twelve league appearances but we've somehow managed to win seventeen league games <whistle>

Well I don't think you are remembering that game properly. We battered them all game. Their first goal was a long distance shot deflected in. Their second goal was a counter attack from a Liverpool corner where we only had 2 players back against the pace of Gayle & Bolasie (and one of them was Johnson) and their third goal was a long ball that our centre backs bafflingly failed to deal with and basically let them through to score. It was hardly a Pulis master plan, it was more like a team that were chasing GD that forgot about defending.
