SSN said:
Sky Sports understands that Leicester City have made an improved offer for Nottingham Forest defender Wes Morgan.

An initial bid of around £500,000 was rejected by the two-time European champions.

The 27-year-old rugged centre-back is out of contract at the City Ground in the summer and Forest could be tempted to cash in on the fans' favourite during the transfer window, rather than risk losing him on a free in the summer.

Following the resignation of Nigel Doherty as chairman of the club, Forest can no longer rely on financial backing from the investment tycoon.

A statement from chief executive Mark Arthur on the club's official website stated: "Nigel Doherty has made it abundantly clear what level of financial support he will provide for Nottingham Forest in the future.

"From a football point of view that means it will be up to the board, working with the manager, to raise funds for transfers and loans by selling existing players from within the squad."

Morgan joined Nottingham Forest as a trainee and has gone on to make 376 league appearances for the club.

Sounds like they have cash flow problems too, wouldn't surprise me if they didnt come out of the relegation zone like Cov

But what do we think about the player?

It looks like he is coming in to replace the outgoing Ledge?

Would prefer a Michael Morrison type player that we can develop and would be happy as back up - would Morgan be happy to be first choice in a relegated team or 3rd/4th in a (lets be honest now) mid-table team?

St Ledger definitely going? - did alright against Forest.

750K is latest offer and i think that will be more then enough to get Forest to do a deal

Surely the end of Sean St. Ledger

JA606 are reporting that SSN have confirmed that Leicestershire bid for Wes Morgan has been accepted. Is this true and if so any other links as I've checked SSN and it only says that we've made a 2nd bid that's all.

They have probably mixed up. We've had a second bid rejected.

Its just the 1st bid rejected so far. 2nd is under consideration

After a slow start things are moving on in the transfer market for us

I think he won player of the season the year before last.

Our player of the year then was Hobbs - means nothing.

Personally don't want him - as I said earlier on this thread we should be after a youngster to develop as we have Tunchev as the veteran backup.

Would i have Morgan probaly but is he better then Matt Mills, i would say no. Is he better then Sol Bamba, no.

He is probaly a better option then Tunchev because of the injury past and the fact he is only able to play 1 game a week. As for Sean St. Ledger its pretty clear he is on his way out but is there any point getting Morgan if Nigel feels he can forgive SSL. As i would say they are pretty much on par together

Morgan has played consistently at this level for years. Hobbs had one good season.
