I don't think a captain goalie is that bad, wasn't Shilts captain of England during italia 90 or did I make that up? Anyway Kasper is worthy IMO.
I agree - the likes of Casillas and Buffon have done well for club and country. As for Italia 90 - Robson's was captain but after his injury it was Butcher. Definitely captained England at least once though.
we can debate all we want but in training the captain picks himself- it is the one who everyone listens to most of all.
I can see why some of you would fancy Kasper, he's likely to start every game and he seems popular, but keepers as captains are rarely a good idea in my opinion. Even the teams that do have a keeper as captain, normally have a natural leader somewhere around the middle of the park.
That's a good point, if considering the examples Italy and Spain with Buffon and Casillas as captains, they also had the likes of Xavi/Xabi Alonso and Pirlo as commanders in the centre of the pitch.
I think Morgan is def a good choice for capt, experienced player, and at least he looks like he cares, will always give %100, and not afraid to put his head or foot in where it hurts when needed, unlike some of so called more tallented players...........
Yeah i think Wes is a good choice but there wasnt that many contenders to be honest Morgan, Danns, Konchesky and Schmeichel was the only real contenders I dont like keepers getting the armband but i would have given it to Kasper as i think he is a natural leader. Wes will now have to lift the league trophy at Forest on the final day
Good choice for me .. wasn't keen on Kaspar ... his old man was more of a natural leader and he never got the armband .. and the red nosed old fox at Old Trafford has been pretty good with his captain selections over the years ..
I remember him being captain when Man Utd won the Champions League in 1999 - was his last match and Keane was suspended though.
I didn't realise we were rivals...........http://www.ltlf.co.uk/2012/07/wes-morgan-leicester-city-captain/
Well of course we are not ... but if we ever needed an 'independent' endorsement of Wes as the right man for the armband then we have just got it ...
