Wes Hoolahan - The End Of An Era

I feel as heartbroken about Wes leaving, as with Holty, Hucks, Iwan. So glad he got such an amazing goodbye.

Undoubtedly one of the best players ever to wear the yellow and green. Open to debate but I would put him alongside Martin Peters, Kevin Keelan, Ian Crook, Tommy Bryceland and Jimmy Hill as the top six players we have had in the 67 years I have been going to Carrow Road.

 

Great to see that both JM and TC praising Wessi for his 'coaching' over the past couple of years.

 

But he was never as good as Huckerby and I don’t see him on your list

 

Think you forgot to add 'in my opinion'.
It's not everybody's though, not mine for a start, much as I admired Huckerby.

 

Hoolahan is a better Norwich legend than Hucks, as much as I love him.

 

Imagine them both in a 5 man midfield of:
Hucks - Maddison - Howson - Wes - Fox

 

It would certainly be raining goals, trouble is at both ends! They'd be far to easy too beat in the championship street fight, who on earth wins the ball back out of that lot? In my NCFC supporting lifetime which is roughly the same as the period spanned by that selection with Ruel (Unless you meant David!), I'd have to say that Messers; Phelen, Crook and Goss might feel a bit hard done by with that line up. Much as I like both Wes and Howson, I'd have to drop them for Phelan and Crook.
