to look better than we were, by an out of form coventry side?. OUR passing was quite good at times and movement up front was pleasant to watch ,however, no real pace from midfield going forward ,and at times poor defending at corners and when high balls went in to our 18 yrd box .THe three points were very welcome but i have to think how many teams will come here and play the way coventry did.
ON a foot note the other pleasing thing was to read this board today and see that our old friend WARKY is NOT ranting about LEADBETTER,at last this poor lad in warkys eyes must have done good .long may we continue to play the way of last night and make our way towards the right end of the table .
 
Patially yes, we can only play what is in front of us but for the majority of the game Coventry looked like one of the poorest teams I have seen at PR in recent years and yet they still should have score 3 in the second half. For the first 20 minutes we looked very impressive but after going two nil up (and it should have been 4 or 5 if Chopra had taken his chances) then we eased of. If we could replicate our play in the first 20 minutes for a whole ninety then we may have reasons to look cheerful for the rest of the season against better opponents.
Im not going to go mad about the performance as it may well be a 1 off but there were signs that we can still pose a threat but I think the next 3 matches will give a better indication of where we are.
 
I don't think our performance was directly related to Coventry's contribution. Town played a good formation and better football than they have for some time. Coventry were certainly very poor (for the most part) but it shouldn't detract from the fact that we showed some definite and positive signs of improvement in that game.

Andy Thorn.... "We never got going and for 20 minutes we were still in the dressing room. Against good, experienced players you can't do that and they played really well in that period. Ipswich are the best side we've played this season but, having said that, that was our worst performance."
