We are only playing with 1 striker. We currently have Suarez,Borini,Carroll and Morgan. Probably in that order. Nothing wrong with the numbers but not the best quality. I think despite what
Rodgers said the other day we've got quite a big squad, if we sign anymore players I'd like to see us offload some aswell

The Sahin deal is confirmed as close as we're stepping up the wages.

If the rumours about Daniel Sturridge materialise, I'll be very happy to have secured a player I've wanted since Fernando Torres move in the opposite direction.

Sturridge is one of the most brainless self-opinionated forwards around. He may be an attacker but a CF/striker he most certainly isn't

Agreed, we need the poacher the guy that will score someway, somehow, by toe bash, off his chest, putting a defender under pressure, creating a bit on his own would be great as well. ( hence why Bent ticks a lot of the boxes but doesn't create on his own for example and would be wayyyyyy to much $$$).

Sums him up quite well. Thought he was awful for GB in Olympics.

  7. Not sure Rodgers likes the poacher style of player, he prefers movement and flexibility. He has gone on record as liking the 460 formation that Spain used and even used it at Swansea last season!

I would love to see Gerrard playing the 'false 9' position ...

  9. Didn't he do it for England once and complained...? It may have just been the number nine shirt though

Really? That would be a shame. I would like to see him in the box - he moves intelligently, can header and he can finish.

  11. Thinking about it, I think it was just a complaint about wearing the number nine shirt. Can't see many players complaining about being asked to play upfront <laugh>

Agreed. Not saying he isn't good enough because its hard to judge a. Player who is in and out so much but....he's selfish, sulky and would cost a whole lot more than he's worth. If Rodgers wants players who will run all day, chase down opposition defenders etc why the hell would he go for Sturridge (or Walcott for that matter).

Ha - plus Gerrard doesn't seem to the type of player who complains about playing in different positions!

Sven Goran Erikkson, Steve McClaren, Fabio Capello and Roy Hodgson would never play a false 9! 442 all the way.

Sums not your strong point then? Try to stay with me on this and raise your hand if you get lost:

FSG bought the club cheap in a fire sale. They got all the players (assets) as part of that deal, meaning every player was discounted. They sold Torres and Babel for a combined £68m. They bought Suarez and Carroll for £67.8m. They swapped one hopeless Bambi on ice and a disgruntled donkey for two highly rated players and got some loose change back. So they're still in profit. They haven't "invested" anything at this point.

Do you see? It's not magic with mathematics. If you still don't get it count up all the money your dad has laid out on cars in his life then ask him why he isn't driving a car of that exact value now. I'm sure he'll be able to explain it to you in vocabulary you can handle.
